The Theatre Company Will Present THE MOORS by Jen Silverman at Taborspace

The Theatre Company presents its inaugural production, The Moors by Jen Silverman, March 18-April 11. Founded with the intention of transforming found spaces with bold, theatrical endeavors, The Theatre Company has chosen Copeland Commons at Taborspace in the heart of SE Portland's Mt. Tabor neighborhood as their non-traditional performance venue. While Copeland Commons has hosted small scale concerts and other arts events in the past, TTC's production of The Moors marks the first time a professional theatre company has staged a multi-week residency in the space. Co-Artistic Directors Jen Rowe and Brandon Woolley chose the venue specifically for its connection to the community and the story being told.

NWCT Artistic Director Sarah Jane Hardy brings the world of Elephant & Piggie to life in an upbeat musical that weaves through eight of his most popular books, including Elephants Cannot Dance, I Love My New Toy, and Should I Share My Ice Cream? The tour is modeled on NWCT's 2018 production, which enjoyed sold-out houses and rave reviews.

Disney's FROZEN is Coming to Keller Auditorium

Casting has been announced for the Portland engagement of Disney's Frozen. From the producer of The Lion King and Aladdin, Frozen, the Tony Award®-nominated Best Musical, will play an exclusive three-week premiere engagement at Keller Auditorium beginning Thursday, March 5, with performances playing through Sunday, March 22 at 1pm. Opening night is set for Friday, March 6 at 7:30pm.

It is a story of survival and the indomitable human spirit in Belfast, a city reminiscent of any in the world where there is violence and conflict.

An intimate and complex examination of the extraordinary (and ordinary) lives of nine Iraqi women, this remarkable solo work offers a meditation on what it means to be a woman in a country overshadowed by war. Based on Raffo's interviews with real women during the reign and fall of Saddam Hussein, Raffo weaves nine utterly distinct voices into a tapestry of humanity, love, and endurance in the face of oppression.

Local theater company Many Hats Collaboration will remount its latest physical theater work, a?oeThe Undertaking,a?? portraying end of life care of an elder with live music by Northwest Piano Trio. Having debuted the work at the 2019 Fertile Ground Festival, the work will be presented for a limited engagement in partnership with Bag & Baggage Productions on February 7th and 8th at 7:30pm. a?oeThe Undertakinga?? features movement and storytelling enacted by actors and scored by live musicians to deliver an interdisciplinary performance using the music of Dmitri Shostakovich Piano Trio #2 as its spine, paired with original text by Emily Gregory. a?oeThe Undertakinga?? is conceived and directed by Many Hats artistic director Jessica Wallenfels.
