Today we rewind to 2012, when the second Broadway revival of Annie opened at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 487 performances. Annie features a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, with all three authors receiving 1977 Tony Awards for their work.

Last night, BroadwayWorld was at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Orlando, Florida for the 'From Broadway with Love' concert to benefit the Central Florida LGBTQ Community and the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Following the tragic event that took place at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, the Broadway and Orlando theatre communities will unite tonight, Monday, July 25 at 7:30 pm at the Disney Theatre in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to perform FROM BROADWAY WITH LOVE: A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR ORLANDO; a healing night of music and dance to honor the 49 victims.

Proceeds from the love anthem will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida.

For each share or challenge, Stagedoor will donate $10 to the GLBT Center of Central Florida, up to $5,000, because love is love is love.

The Catskills theatre camp has released their own version of the #BroadwayForOrlando love anthem to raise funds for the GLBT Center of Central Florida.

Broadway's top musical artists are set to appear on tonight's (June 21st) telecast of 'Maya & Marty' on NBC to perform 'What the World Needs Now Is Love,' an updated version of the classic Burt Bacharach/Hal David song that is helping to support the devastated LGBT community of Orlando, Fla. An all-star roster of theater artists gathered today to record the new benefit single 'What the World Needs Now is Love' for victims of the Orlando Shooting.
