1st Stage in Tysons, VA will present BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY February 26–March 15, 2026, following the passing of cast member William T. Newman, Jr. Addison Switzer will assume the role of Walter “Pops” Washington.

Signature Theatre announced an extension of the American premiere of new musical In Clay, now running three extra performances and closing Tuesday, February 3.

But the new play by Dave Harris at Studio Theater is framed the same way: Six people marooned in an afterschool detention classroom on the Friday before Martin Luther King weekend, who bicker, flirt, nearly fight, and wonder if the presiding teacher will ever come to sign forms allowing them to go home. 

The story takes place in one night on April 3, 1968 when 'an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis after delivering one of his most memorable speeches.'
