Additional casting for American Ballet Theatre’s 2026 Spring season at the David H. Koch Theater was revealed by Artistic Director Susan Jaffe. The season will include repertory programs featuring Alexei Ratmansky’s Firebird, and more.

Today’s subject Susan Jaffe is currently living her theatre and dance lives as the Artistic Director of One the country’ finest dance companies American Ballet Theatre (ABT). She assumed the post in December of 2022. ABT is coming to town this week for a weeklong engagement of the Christopher Wheeldon choreographed The Winter’s Tale. The show performs in the Opera House at Kennedy Center from February 11th through 15th.

American Ballet Theatre will present a preview of OTHELLO: A DANCE IN THREE ACTS, choreographed by Lar Lubovitch, on February 8, 2026, at the Peter B. Lewis Theater in New York.

INFINITE STEPS, authored by Gavin Larsen and Gene Schiavone, offers an intimate look into the lives of 33 ballet dancers. Scheduled for release on March 17, 2026, by University Press of Florida, the book combines compelling stories with striking portraits.

Misty Copeland, dancer, author, and advocate, has joined American Ballet Theatre's Board of Trustees. Copeland joined ABT Studio Company in 2000 and became the first Black woman promoted to Principal Dancer in 2015.
