This season, three plays are receiving Broadway debuts which already made significant noise off-Broadway in their original productions, years ago. Becky Shaw, Bug, and Marjorie Prime will all be opening on Broadway in early 2026 in brand new productions. The first and last are spending time on Broadway at the Hayes under the auspices of Second Stage while Bug is being presented by Manhattan Theatre Club at their home, the Friedman. 

Apple TV has unveiled its new 10-episode series, Widow's Bay, a dark comedy about a small-town mayor played by Matthew Rhys, who also serves as executive producer. Check out a sneak peek look at the series now.

The award-winning hit HBO series Succession will conclude with its upcoming fourth season according to the show's creator, Jesse Armstrong.

The animated series will star original voice talent including Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick and Lauren Tom. The reboot has been in the works since the 2017 San Francisco Sketchfest, where Judge and Daniels reconnected with the cast and celebrated the 20th anniversary of “King of the Hill.”

HBO announced today that the critically acclaimed dark comedy series BARRY has been renewed for a fourth season. Season four will begin production in Los Angeles in June, with Bill Hader directing all eight episodes. Hader and Alec Berg are the series co-creators and executive producers.

The first two seasons of BARRY received a total of thirty Emmy® nominations and six Emmys® including: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Bill Hader); Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Henry Winkler); Outstanding Sound Editing For a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation; and Outstanding Sound Mixing.

Alec Berg (“Silicon Valley”) and Hader (“Saturday Night Live”) are co-creators, executive producers, directors and writers. Apple and A24 just celebrated the LA premiere of Joel Coen's upcoming 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' film, premiering in select theaters on December 25, and globally on Apple TV+ on January 14, 2022.

Freeform has ordered the half-hour animated comedy series “Praise Petey” (working title) from creator, writer and executive producer Anna Drezen and Monica Patrick. The cast also includes Annnie Murphy, John Cho, Christine Baranski, Kiersey Clemons, Amy Hill, and Stephen Root will star in the new series.
