Check out the new music video from "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" nominated for 8 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical.  Directed by Ezra Hurwitz, the video features Tony Award nominee Damon Daunno and Rebecca Naomi Jones performing  "People Will Say We're In Love".

In the past few weeks, we've watched the nominations roll in. Today the final crop of nominees have been revealed, all leading to next week's ultimate announcement- the 2019 Tony nominations.

Last week I went to the Drama Desk Award Nominations Reception at Green Room 42, here in NYC.  This is one of the last few events where you get to meet some of the newest folks doing theater OFF Broadway and On Broadway.  You also get a chance to chat to some of the actors who are nominated for this year's Tony Awards, as well.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! has been visited by many stars this week. Seen in the audience and backstage were Rachel Bloom, Constance Wu, Patti LuPone, Beck Bennett, Samantha Bee, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jim Parsons and Carson Kressley.

Producer Eva Price announced today that the reimagined revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! will launch its North American tour at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the Fall of 2020. The 2020 tour will mark the first time a First Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in 40 years.

One of the hottest lines on Broadway isn't for rush tickets or the stage door, it's for Aunt Eller's chili at Oklahoma! Spotted this week was Lin-Manuel Miranda sampling the tasty morsel. Check out the photo below!

Just last night, Vineyard Theatre presented its 2019 Gala fundraiser, celebrating Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, and Drama League Award nominated artist and Vineyard Board Member, Colman Domingo. 

The Brooklyn Diner Times Square (155 West 43rd Street) honored Tony nominee Mary Testa, Aunt Eller in the hit Tony nominated revival of Oklahoma! by renaming their signature chili, 'Aunt Eller's Chili.'

Oklahoma native Kristin Chenowith took to the plains to see the hit Tony Award nominated "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" at Circle in the Square. After the show she joined fellow attendee Jesse Tyler Ferguson to congratulate the stars, Damon Daunno, Ali Stroker, James Davis and Will Brill. Actress Ali Stroker made history as the first Broadway performer in a wheelchair. Now she's nominated for a Tony Award. Stroker joins 'CBS This Morning' to share how the production of "Oklahoma!" brings a modern twist to the classic musical.

I can remember so well senior year of college when my friend Claudio came back from a trip to New York all abuzz over little drag rock show he'd seen Off-Broadway called Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I was grilling him for details on Audra and Marin in Ragtime and whether there was anything we could steal from Sam Mendes for our off-campus production of Cabaret, but Claudio only wanted to talk about Hedwig. The clincher for me was when he mentioned the star--and author--was John Cameron Mitchell. I was obsessed with John on the original cast albums of The Secret Garden and Hello Again. 'Okay, okay,' I agreed. I would see this Hedwig when I moved to New York four months later.

The hit reimagined revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! has announced an extension due to popular demand at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway). Oklahoma!, which opened April 7th as a limited engagement, will now have tickets available through January 19th, 2020. The 2019 Tony Award Nominations were announced this morning, and while a select, talented few will spend the day celebrating their achievements, there are many who fell just short of a nod.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2018-19 Broadway productions all leading up to Tuesdays big announcement... the Tony nominations.

The 73rd Annual Tony Award Nominations will be announced tomorrow, April 30, from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the final time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met a total of four times throughout the 2018-2019 season to decide the eligibility for the 73rd Annual Tony Awards.

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, announced today their lineup of performers to pay special tribute to this year's honorees at their Annual Gala on Monday, April 29, 2019. Michael Urie (Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song) hosts the evening that will include performances by Amber Gray (Hadestown), Beth Leavel, Michael Potts, Matthew Sklar (The Prom), Damon Daunno,Rebecca Naomi Jones (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!), Sarah Stiles (Tootsie) and a special appearance by Chairman of The Actors Fund Brian Stokes Mitchell. Luke Hawkins & Evan Ruggiero will open the Gala with an original tap dance number. Additional presenters and guests include: Annette Bening,Kenny Leon, Jawan M. Jackson, Tony Kushner, Will Roland, Brandon Uranowitz, Eric William Morris, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Gideon Glick and more. Performers and guests are subjects to change.
