The 2019 theatrical season has afforded me the opportunity to see several fantastic plays and musicals, unfortunately, Ken Ludwig's SHERWOOD THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD does not rank among them. Yes, if you like slapstick, old jokes, and sword fights then it does provide a nice evening of entertainment and several moments of raucous humor. SHERWOOD THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, starring Hal Linden, at the New Theatre Restaurant runs through February 2, 2020.

Higgins's work as a composer traverses the styles of the European avant-garde and the tradition of post-minimalist Downtown New York music. Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist has been cast as Riff of the Jets  in Fox's Steven Spielberg West Side Story film, according to Deadline. Puerto Rican singer and dancer Ana Isabelle will play Rosalia, a shark who works with Maria and Dance Moms' Maddie Ziegler has been cast as part of the Jets. They have also cast  over 40 performers set as Sharks and Jets!

The Kitchen presents Miho Hatori: Salon Mondialite, an imaginary, experimental TV talk show, inspired by Martinique-born poet and thinker Edouard Glissant's words. Instead of conversations, Hatori creates sound stories through improvisation and ambient chanting, with guest musicians Smokey Hormel and Patrick Higgins. On Friday, August 3, 2018, violinist Josh Modney, Executive Director of the Wet Ink Ensemble and a member of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), releases his debut solo violin album, Engage, on New Focus Records. The three-disc album brings together the varied threads of Modney's recent work, including long-term collaborations with composers Kate Soper, Eric Wubbels, and Sam Pluta, who perform on the album; solo violin music by Taylor Brook and Anthony Braxton; Modney's own improvised music for solo violin; and J.S. Bach's Ciaccona reinterpreted in Just Intonation.
