Vineyard Theatre has announced the cast and design team for the World Premiere of This Land Was Made, written by Tori Sampson. See how to purchase tickets!

On Friday, August 5, 2022, composer, solo improviser, bandleader, and writer Josh Modney releases Near To Each, his debut full-length album as a composer and bandleader, on Carrier Records. The album features nine compositions for a quartet of adventurous musicians including Ingrid Laubrock (saxophones), Mariel Roberts (cello), and Cory Smythe (piano), with Modney on violin.

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival opens the iconic Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A Chorus Line. The show previews June 22 & 23, opens June 24 and will run through July 10 at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of DeSales University.

The WYO Theater Performing Arts & Education Center has announced auditions for the Young Theatre Makers Ensemble, a program of WYO PLAY. WYO PLAY, launched in September 2020, is a series of extracurricular arts education programs that create safe and engaging environments for life-long learners to explore the theater arts.

16-year-old performer and producer, Lana Schwartz (Off Broadway’s Endangered!), is producing her entirely teen-run theatre company, Nxt Generation Theatrics’, second virtual concert, “NGT Rocks”, premiering on June 1 at 7pm, with 30% of the proceeds benefiting The Actors Fund and Stop AAPI Hate.

Bozeman Children's Theatre has moved to Zoom, like many other arts organizations who are struggling to connect during the health crisis.

Metropolis Ensemble is commissioning performers to present bite-sized works from contemporary composers, as well as composers to create new works specifically for this series, which are then recorded from wherever the artists are sheltering. 'House Music' launched in late March and streams live every Tuesday and Thursday at 10AM ET. The 2019 theatrical season has afforded me the opportunity to see several fantastic plays and musicals, unfortunately, Ken Ludwig's SHERWOOD THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD does not rank among them. Yes, if you like slapstick, old jokes, and sword fights then it does provide a nice evening of entertainment and several moments of raucous humor. SHERWOOD THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, starring Hal Linden, at the New Theatre Restaurant runs through February 2, 2020.

Experimental music artist Patrick Higgins brings his unique blend of classical acoustic and electric guitar in genre-bending contexts to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, August 25, at 7:30pm, as part of the citywide Hudson Eye Festivalpresented by the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation. Higgins's work as a composer traverses the styles of the European avant-garde and the tradition of post-minimalist Downtown New York music. As such, it appeals to fans of both classical and rock music, connecting the dots between Bach and Sonic Youth.

Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist has been cast as Riff of the Jets  in Fox's Steven Spielberg West Side Story film, according to Deadline. Puerto Rican singer and dancer Ana Isabelle will play Rosalia, a shark who works with Maria and Dance Moms' Maddie Ziegler has been cast as part of the Jets. They have also cast  over 40 performers set as Sharks and Jets!

The Kitchen presents Miho Hatori: Salon Mondialite, an imaginary, experimental TV talk show, inspired by Martinique-born poet and thinker Edouard Glissant's words. Instead of conversations, Hatori creates sound stories through improvisation and ambient chanting, with guest musicians Smokey Hormel and Patrick Higgins. The Salon features a video installation by the artist and an appearance from special guest performer Melvin "Grave" Guzman. Curated by Tim Griffin.

Prime Cut Productions has announced further details for Removed, a brand new play inspired by interviews with young people growing up in care in Northern Ireland, created in collaboration with playwright Fionnuala Kennedy and Voice Of Young People In Care (VOYPIC), and in association with Young at Art. Removed will receive its world premiere at Belfast Children's Festival on Saturday 9 March and run from 07 to 16 March 2019 at the Brian Friel Theatre.

Prime Cut Productions has announced an all Ireland tour of its critically acclaimed theatre double bill featuring Fintan Brady's East Belfast Boy and John Patrick Higgins' Every Day I Wake Up Hopeful. The double bill will run from 29 January until 20 February 2019 and tour to venues in Belfast, Roscommon, Cork, Letterkenny, Castlebar, Limerick, Armagh and Dublin.

You only have two more chances to see Rebel and Misfits' Macbeth: Come Like Shadows, directed by Sean Patrick Higgins and Kelly Hummert, and even in a city of generous theatre offerings, you will probably not have the opportunity to see anything else quite like this.
