DPAC Presents DIRTY DANCING, Tickets on Sale 6/28

DPAC announced today that individual tickets for the Triangle premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will go on sale June 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at the DPAC Ticket Center or by visiting DPACnc.com and Ticketmaster. The staged musical of this worldwide smash-hit film will play DPAC September 16-21, 2014.

Cheyenne Jackson will lead Lambda Legal's West Coast Liberty Awards Red Carpet Fundraising Gala as the Liberty Awards Host, which celebrates those working towards Lambda Legal's vision of equality. Bravo TV's Million Dollar Listing star Madison Hildebrand will also join in the evening's celebrations as the Red Carpet Host. This year's honorees include Scandal's Dan Bucatinsky, The Fosters Executive Producers/Showrunners Bradley Bredeweg, Joanna Johnson and Peter Paige, Congressman Henry A. Waxman, and transgender advocate Bamby Salcedo. The West Coast Liberty Awards are today, June 13th, at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.

PGA & Cadillac Announce Mentors for 'Make Your Mark' Film Competition

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) and Cadillac are pleased to announce the mentors for the Make Your Markcompetition– a short film competition open to producers across the country. Participating producers will compete for the opportunity of a lifetime – a portion of the winning short film and the winning producer's name will be featured in Cadillac's :30 spot that will air on ABC during the Oscars, on Sunday, February 22. The competition honors the work of renowned Academy Award® winning filmmaker Saul Zaentz (“The English Patient,” “Amadeus,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest”), who passed away earlier this year. Zaentz's passion continues to inspire the next generation of industry-defining producers through the Make Your Mark competition.

Cheyenne Jackson has starred on both 30 Rock opposite Tina Fey and Glee where he played the voice coach for the group Vocal Adrenaline, and will next be seen starring opposite Gena Rowlands in the feature film "Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks" releasing in theaters in early 2014. On Broadway, Cheyenne most recently starred in Encore's production of "The Most Happy Fella" at City Center, "Finian's Rainbow" (Drama Desk nomination), "Damn Yankees," "Xanadu" (Drama League , Drama Desk nominations), "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and," "All Shook Up" (Theater World Award, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle nomination). Off-Broadway he was seen in the orignal cast of "Altar Boyz". On July 4, 5, and 6, he makes his anticipated Broadway@ The Art House debut. Marvel Finally Secures a New Director for ANT-MAN

Marvel has had a difficult time moving forward with their Ant-Man project. They first lost director Edgar Wright, who put in 8 years of work on the film. Adam McKay was the runner-up; however, he recently declined. After much searching, Marvel has hired Peyton Reed as the new director of Ant-Man.

Adam McKay was in talks with Marvel to direct the upcoming Ant-Man movie. McKay would have replaced Edgar Wright who recently left the project due to artistic differences. Since Marvel wants to keep their July 2015 release date, they've been trying to replace Wright as quickly as possible. However, McKay suddenly backed out of the project.

Director Edgar Wright Exits Marvel's ANT-MAN

The studio confirmed the news today, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Wright co-wrote the script with Joe Cornish, and has been with the project since its initial development in 2006.
