There is nothing that sends my theatre-loving heart into full jazz hands mode quite like watching young performers step into the spotlight and belt their way toward Broadway dreams, and the 2026 Broadway Bound Awards, presented by Celebrity Attractions in partnership with Stage 13, was an absolutely dazzling reminder that the future of musical theatre in Arkansas is sparkling brighter than the marquee lights on Broadway Theatre.

What did our critic think of THE WIZARD OF OZ at Hot Springs World Class High School Theater?

Sullivan Rep will present BANDSTAND, a musical exploring post-WWII America through the eyes of veterans and a war widow, as the opener for their third season. Directed by Dan Sullivan, the show features a cast led by Kevin Hanley and Melissa Paz.

It was so fetch getting to see MEAN GIRLS with Stage 13 at Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock Thursday night, January 22, and thankfully I did, because snowmageddon has hit and canceled the remaining weekend. Lucky for you losers, they have moved the weekend shows to Wednesday, January 28, so if you already bought tickets, they were automatically moved for you, and you do not want to miss this show! 

There’s something truly special about seeing young artists take the stage with confidence, joy, and clear artistic intention, and A Hot Cocoa Nutty Nutcracker—presented by the Hot Springs School District 7–12 Dance Program on December 11 and 12—did exactly that.

What did our critic think of SHREK THE MUSICAL at The Pocket Community Theatre?

The Hot Springs Trojan Theatre has truly outdone themselves with what has become my favorite rendition of The Addams Family, performed April 24–26 in the Joyce L. Littleton Craft Auditorium. Directed by Kaitlin Potts, this cast delivered doom and gloom with a delightfully magical and macabre flair, and it wasn’t just me who took notice.

The Broadway Bound Awards of Central Arkansas, presented by Celebrity Attractions in partnership with Argenta Contemporary Theatre, is proud to honor the next generation of musical theatre stars with an opportunity of a lifetime. 

Company, the beloved Stephen Sondheim musical with a book by George Furth, will be presented for a Limited Engagement Run by Sullivan Rep as the next show of their second season.
