BroadwayWorld sat down with Emmy-Award nominated songwriters Benj Pasek & Justin Paul and Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman to speak with them about the process of working together on Only Murders in the Building, crafting the patter song for the show, and how they knew Steve Martin could pull it off.

With 15 nominations, FX’s The Bear was the most nominated series this year, followed by Max’s Hacks and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building with 13 each. ABC’s Abbott Elementary and CBS’s Ghosts are tied for third place, with 11 nominations each.

In a new interview as part of Deadline's Sound and Screen Television, Tony-award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul praised Steve Martin's performance singing 'Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It' from Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building. The song, written in collaboration with Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, was helmed for the in-universe musical Death Rattle Dazzle starring Martin's character, Charles-Haden Savage.

In a panel at the For Your Consideration event for Only Murders in the Building on Friday, Meryl Streep detailed her experience recording Sara Bareilles and Pasek and Paul's song 'Look to the Light,' stating that the recording session made her 'really nervous.'

Molly Shannon is joining Only Murders in the Building as a recurring character in season four. While plot details are under wraps, the Saturday Night Live will play an LA business woman who is drawn into the world of New York investigation. Season four will launch in California before the trio returns to The Arconia in NYC to solve Saz's murder.
