After selling out its original only performance, the BE MORE CHILL five-year anniversary concert added a second show at London's Arts Theatre on November 17.

There’s a new Queen in town, and her name is Keala Settle, with five pop princesses all called Diana, keen on stealing her limelight. The Diana Mixtape, currently lighting up HERE at Outernet, is a glitter-soaked, pop-powered celebration of the People’s Princess, unlike anything London has seen before. Blending drag spectacle, West End flair, and irresistible chart-toppers, this high-camp musical concert is less a traditional biopic and more a fabulously queer fever dream.

Director Christopher D. Clegg assembles Jacob Fowler (Hunter), Abbie Budden (Heidi), Mary Moore (Susan), and Thomas Oxley (Jeff) as the quartet, while Tom Chippendale is their accompanying pianist Larry. New casts will never have that je-ne-sais-quoi of the artists playing themselves, but, if the chemistry is there (and here it is indeed), the material is a boisterous enough journey through music and stressful deadlines bolstered up by meaningful friendships. Mind you, the piece is reasonably sized but, here, it regrettably comes off as a filler production to tide the venue over. 

Emilie Louise Israel (Treason, Hamilton) will bring to life one of the world’s most powerful women – Cleopatra! Performances run Wednesday 31st July – Sunday 25th August 2024.

Producers Christopher D Clegg and James Drury have had a remarkable journey with Cool Rider, the much-lauded Grease 2 stage adaption. From a supposed ‘one night only show’ back in 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, to record-breaking ticket sales, a flurry of last-minute additional dates, then a return run three months later at the Duchess Theatre…not to mention an original cast recording.
