This year, the BroadwayWorld Cabaret awards were thrilled to be able to celebrate streaming events from all across the globe thanks to the innovation of the Cabaret community during the pandemic - and we look forward to celebrating the return of NYC Cabaret with you all in 2021.

With the start of a new year, two producers of different art have chosen to turn their friendship and their mutual experience into a new venture all their own.

Joseph C. Townsend turned up in a group show one day, and he's been turning heads ever since.

A drag creation of actor, singer, host Ray DeForest, Doris was born in the wake of Ray’s beloved mother, Taffy, succumbing to the dreaded Alzheimers Disease. Artistically developed as a way to feel close with Taffy, Deforest performs to honor her memory, and brighten the lives of his audiences with a little laughter, a little song, and a lot of whiskey sours.

The BWW Cabaret Awards honor exemplary performers and productions in New York from October 1st, 2019 to September 30th, 2020. Nominees in all categories excluding Special Event - Solo and Special Event - Multiple needed to have performed all or the majority of their shows (at least two of three shows) during this eligibility period.

The Broadway World Awards for Cabaret have added some categories this year. This is one that we felt was really important... and just look at all the swell nominations!

The Broadway World Awards had a flood of nominations for singers working with a company of other performers who caught the attention of someone in the audience. These videos will show why.

With her new chat show GURL TALK, Doris Dear branches out into new avenues.

The full length musical, AT KC's, written by Kristina Nicole Miller (The Preacher's Wife) and Blake Allen (Folk Wandering; the shards of an honor code junkie), is a new, American tragedy discussing racial tensions through the lens of a Black-owned, Cotton Club-esque nightclub.

Astoria Performing Arts Center (Dev Bondarin, Artistic Director), in association with Teresa Lotz, presents six new musical shorts written in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Featuring the work of fifteen writers, six directors, and a large number of actors, the contributing artists joined the project in the early days of the crisis in the spirit of developing new work without being in the same room to do so. 

In today's very special episode (filmed in early March), Spencer is joined by Bradley Gibson to give us a history lesson on one of his favorite under-rated musicals- The Secret Garden. Watch below as he tells us all about the show and performs 'Lily's Eyes' with Spencer. This episode features videography by Dan Tracy, with arrangements by Blake Allen, Michael Liepper on piano and Jessica Wang on cello.
