The Muny announced today its full cast, design and production teams for the theatre's production of Chicago, June 13-19. The cast features Sarah Bowden (Roxie Hart), J. JJ Niemann (The Book of Mormon) performed 'If I Were a Girl' from Danny Feldman's HIDE AND SEEK at famed cabaret spot, Feinstein's/54 Below. Audiences can expect to see this, among other songs, in JJ Niemann's portrayal of Charles in Hide and Seek this April at Feinstein's/54 Below. The concert is sold out, but audiences are able to live stream the one night only event from home.

The Ensemblist brought together the Broadway community, reuniting performers in Times Square (socially distanced) in a moving tribute to theatre.  

National Asian Artists Project's Rediscover Series presented Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella- In Concert starring Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera) and Josh Dela Cruz (Aladdin, 'Blues Clues And You') as Ella and Prince Topher on March 2 at The Alvin Ailey Citicorp Theater. Lyric has announced full casting for its production of 42nd Street, to be presented May 29 - June 21, 2020, at the Lyric Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago. Previously announced Broadway stars Norm Lewis (Julian Marsh) and Faith Prince (Dorothy Brock) are joined by Isabelle McCalla (Peggy Sawyer), who recently starred in Broadway's The Prom and Aladdin, and Ashley Day (Billy Lawlor), who reprises his role from the West End revival of 42nd Street.

Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera) and Josh Dela Cruz (Blue's Clues & You, Aladdin) will star as Ella and Topher in the National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella- In Concert, as part of its 'Rediscover Series' which explores classic American musicals, with professional artists of Asian descent, proving that great works of theater speak to all communities. The one night only event will take place on Monday, March 2 at 8PM at The Alvin Ailey Citicorp Theater (405 West 55th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues). Scroll down for rehearsal photos.

Today's column starts with some questions for you my fellow readers. Have you ever thought about how theatres get audiences to attend their productions? Generally the first thing you might see after a season is announced is what's known as a press release for each individual production. Have you ever wondered who puts out that information?

Arena Stage, accompanied by some of the cast from Disney's Newsies, as well as the Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig, volunteered at the USO (United Service Organization).
