Alessandro Nivola BIO

Alessandro Nivola is an American actor with an impressive career in both film and theater. Born in Boston in 1972, Nivola grew up in a family of artists and academics. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy and then went on to study English at Yale University.
Nivola began his acting career in the mid-1990s, appearing in small roles in films like "Inventing the Abbotts" and "Face/Off." He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was soon cast in more substantial roles. In 1998, he starred in "Best Laid Plans" alongside Reese Witherspoon, and in 2000, he played the lead role in the critically acclaimed film "Love's Labour's Lost," directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Despite his success in film, Nivola has always been drawn to the stage. He made his Broadway debut in 2003 in a production of "The Elephant Man," playing the role of Dr. Frederick Treves. The production was a critical and commercial success, and Nivola's performance was praised for its sensitivity and nuance.
In 2010, Nivola returned to Broadway to star in a revival of "A View from the Bridge" alongside Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber. The production was a huge success, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, and Nivola's performance as Rodolpho was widely praised.
Nivola has also had a successful career in off-Broadway theater. In 2005, he starred in "The Mercy Seat" at the Acorn Theatre, and in 2012, he appeared in "The Winslow Boy" at the Roundabout Theatre Company.
In addition to his work in theater, Nivola has continued to act in film and television. He has appeared in a wide range of projects, from indie films like "Junebug" and "Coco Before Chanel" to big-budget blockbusters like "Jurassic Park III" and "American Hustle." He has also had recurring roles on television shows like "Doll & Em" and "The Sopranos."
Most recently, Nivola starred in the HBO miniseries "The Plot Against America," based on the novel by Philip Roth. His performance as Rabbi Lionel Bengelsdorf was widely praised, with critics calling it one of the standout performances of the series.
