He also received a nomination for Performance at the Theatre World Awards for his performance in "The Mystery of Charles Dickens". Callow was honored with the Patricia Rothermere Award at the Evening Standard Awards. Additionally, he was nominated for Best Director of a Musical at the Olivier Awards for his work on "Carmen Jones". Callow's directing skills were recognized again with a nomination for Outstanding Director - Play at the Drama Desk Awards for "Shirley Valentine". Lastly, he received a nomination for Actor of the Year in a Supporting Role at the Olivier Awards for his role in "Amadeus".

Simon Callow has won several awards for his performances and directing in the theater. He received the Performance (Theatre World Awards) for his role in "The Mystery of Charles Dickens."
