STOOPKID STORIES LIVE! Will Be Performed at Summer Theatre New Canaan This Summer
This new and exciting show is a live adaptation of the hit children's podcast, Stoopkid Stories, written and narrated by Melissa Victor. Victor, also known to her listeners as Melly, started her podcast in January 2020, two months before the Broadway shutdown. It was a way for her to try something new in the midst of audition season, stay creative, and connect with kids.
LA MAMA Presents THE DARK STAR FROM HARLEM: The Spectacular Rise Of Josephine Baker
Today, LA MAMA announced the limited engagement of the world premiere musical THE DARK STAR FROM HARLEM: The Spectacular Rise of Josephine Baker. Featuring a book and direction by Glynn Borders and music and lyrics by Mario E. Sprouse, the production will play LA MAMA located at 66 East 4th Street, New York, NY, November 21 - December 1, 2019. Tickets are $30 with discounts available for students, senior adults and groups. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at lamama.org, by calling 212.352.3101, or at the LA MAMA box office one hour before a performance.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to Ford's Theatre This December
Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced that acclaimed Washington actor Craig Wallace will return to Ford's to perform the role of Ebenezer Scrooge for the company's holiday production of A Christmas Carol. Performances of the classic Charles Dickens story begin November 15 and continue for a six-and-a-half-week engagement through December 30, 2018. This "musically high-spirited" and "infectiously jolly" (The Washington Post) production is adapted by Michael Wilson and directed by Michael Baron.
