Dava Huesca, recently named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2025, is an Obie Award–winning freelance performing artist and choreographer. A graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia Arts High School and SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, she has performed in a range of productions across concert dance and musical theater, including hit off-broadway revival CATS: The Jellicle Ball (as Rumpleteazer and Assistant Dance Captain), Yin Yue Dance Company, and VIM VIGOR. Known for her vogue femme and grounded contemporary movement. Dava continues to expand her creative practice through performance, choreography, and immersive storytelling.
As a freelance choreographer, she has received commissions from Whim Whim Dance Company, Dance Lab New York, Yale University's Summer Drama Cabaret. She was Tanisha Scott’s associate choreographer for the “Bob Marley Hope Road” Choreographic Workshop. As well as Laja Field associate for Gibney Pro and University of Minnesota. In 2021, Dava was honored as the first Springboard Danse Montreal nominated recipient of Jonah Bokaer's Arts Foundation AIR Founder's Residency and was among the first round of choreographic artists for Gallim's Moving Women residency in 2020.
