BWW Review: Witness the Impossible with THE ILLUSIONISTS
by Libby Champion - October 05, 2016
Magic shows. These two little words spark so many different thoughts, feelings and opinions from people. Some view them as a complete farce and waste of time, while others are completely fascinated by the sleight of hand, the disillusionment and the mystery behind it all. I happen to be the latter type of person and have seen my fair share of magic shows, so I really wasn't expecting to see anything new or daring in this particular show. Boy, was I wrong! In THE ILLUSIONISTS the seven different type of magicians promise they will "notice, observe, deduce" in a way never seen before, and they absolutely do not disappoint.

BWW Review: ROCK OF AGES is a Runaway Train of Sexiness and Head Banging
by Matt Tamanini - October 02, 2016
The cast for TheatreWorks Florida's Central Florida Premiere of the musical ROCK OF AGES is dynamite; easily one of the two or three best collections of talent that I have seen on an Orlando stage in my three-plus seasons of Central Florida theatergoing. Director and choreographer Scott A. Cook has crafted an impressively ambitious production with a top-notch, multi-level set from James F. Beck. The silly show is trivial at best, but that is the exact mark that it aims to hit, and the onstage band, led by music director Shannon Kropf, rocks incredibly hard to some of the most recognizable tunes of the hairband-era.

BWW Review: Theatre UCF's CLYBOURNE PARK is Central Florida Theatre at its Best
by Matt Tamanini - September 30, 2016
Last year, Orlando's Mad Cow Theatre opened a powerful production of Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play CLYBOURNE PARK, and while their version still holds up a year later, the environment in which we find ourselves in 2016 adds an extra level of resonance to Theatre UCF's production, running through October 2nd. This top-notch production is both beautifully staged and designed, and the cast provides nuanced performances of a script that constantly reveals new layers to be analyzed. Theatre UCF's CLYBOURNE PARK is theatre, educational or otherwise, at its best.
