At All Cost, dramatizes a critical, often overlooked chapter of American history — the exclusion of Black WWII veterans from the GI Bill and the long-lasting effects of this systemic injustice.

Set in the aftermath of World War II, At All Cost tells the story of a Black soldier who returns home from the battlefield only to find that the promises made to him — and his fellow veterans — are broken, especially for Black soldiers who were unjustly excluded from GI Bill benefits. The play explores the emotional and societal impact of this exclusion and underscores the often-hidden sacrifices of Black veterans who were denied the same opportunities as their white counterparts.

At All Cost made its debut at the Lake Worth Playhouse Stonzek Studio Theatre in June 2025, where it sold out its performances and was met with critical acclaim. Due to popular demand, they returned for an encore performance in August, and a special Veterans Day performance in South Florida, sponsored by the YMCA of South Florida.

This performance marked the beginning of a national tour scheduled to run through 2026.

The next stop is the Orlando Family Stage on April 26th, 2026 at 5Pm.

Rashida Costa, the playwright, is an accomplished writer and actress whose work seeks to address historical truths through powerful storytelling. She is also the author of 365 Days Smarter, a motivational book that has inspired readers around the world. Costa is perhaps best known for her renowned quote:
"Words are from the lips; actions are from the heart."

Through her work, she believes in the importance of moving beyond rhetoric to bring about real change. Her philosophy is embodied in another of her quotes:
“The difficulties of slowed progression fosters the art of resilience.”

With the momentum generated by sold-out shows and strong community support, At All Cost is poised to bring this vital story to a wider audience.
