The Palace Youth Theatre Announces Summer Camp Sessions, Kick Off 6/28

By: May. 18, 2010

The Palace Youth Theatre will offer four exciting adventures this summer. Summer Vacation Camps at the Palace Theatre are offered in four two-week sessions Monday through Friday with an evening production scheduled at the end of the second week. Students in grades 2nd through 8th will learn about all aspects of theatre including singing, dancing, acting, costumes, set painting, props, and much more. They will also have the opportunity to create artwork, play theme-related games and see a Palace Professional Theatre for Children production. Campers can choose from the following themed sessions:

Session 1: Candy Land - June 28 - July 9 (Grades 2-6) Campers get stranded in a world of sugar and sweets and have to find their way back home.

Session 2: Glee Camp - July 12 - July 23 (Grades 4-8) Campers act out and sing their favorite songs from the popular TV show "Glee"!

Session 3: Under the Sea - July 26 - August 6 (Grades 2-6) Campers are invited to take a voyage to the depths of the oceans and explore the wonderful world below the sea!

Session 4: Time Machine - August 9 - August 20 (Grades 4-8) Campers get trapped in different decades from the past, present and future...Where will they end up?

"The Summer Camp sessions offer truly unforgettable experiences that have the campers' creativity and imaginations soaring. Over the course of two weeks the Palace staff really has an opportunity to identify and tap into each child's unique talents!" said Carl Rajotte, Artistic Director of the Palace Theatre.

All camps are held on site at The Palace Theatre from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers provide their own lunches and snacks. The Palace Youth Theatre is the largest youth performing company in the area.
