The Twin Cities Horror Festival returns to its old haunt at the Southern Theater for ten days this fall. Following its successful initiation in 2012, the festival once again sets the stage for seven accomplished local performance groups to present seven new works exploring the theme of horror through theater, music, dance, and storytelling. The Guthrie Theater today announced casting for its production of Nina Raine's Tribes. Winner of the 2012 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play and a 2010 Olivier Award nominee for Best Play, Tribes is a provocative, poignant family drama that illuminates the fascinating interplay of sound and communication, perception and true understanding. Wendy Goldberg (Guthrie: Dollhouse) directs this regional premiere that begins performances on the McGuire Proscenium Stage on Friday, October 5.

The Brave New Workshop Theatre (BNW) is pleased to announce the title of its 2013 holiday-themed comedy revue: 'I Saw Daddy Marry Santa Claus.' Previews for this, the BNW's 282nd production, will be November 7-14, and opening night will be Friday, November 15. 'I Saw Daddy Marry Santa Claus' runs through January 25, 2014. All performances are at the Brave New Workshop Theatre main stage at 824 Hennepin Avenue, Downtown Minneapolis.

The supernatural power of love is taking North America by storm as the new Broadway and West End musical Ghost The Musical, adapted from the Academy Award-winning film, launches its first national tour in Schenectady, NY, at Proctors Theater on September 14, 2013.

How to Be a Korean Woman is Chomet's hilarious, heartfelt and personal telling of her life as a Korean-American adoptee and her search for her birth family in Seoul. Zaraawar Mistry directs and serves as dramaturg for this one-woman show that begins on September 19 for four performances only.

Loven's body of work combines puppetry, projections and other art forms with live actors. Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) has announced that FIDDLER ON THE ROOF will return to the Main Stage for the first time in 20 years. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF last graced the Main Stage in 1993 to mark Chanhassen's 25th anniversary. This time around, the theatres' most widely requested show will mark CDT's 45th anniversary. The production will run from September 27th, 2013 through January 25, 2014. CDT just announced the cast for the production.

The explosive tale of doomed love and loss is set in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave desert where transient lovers May and Eddie engage in a ruthless struggle for power and truth. Fool for Love opens September 6 and runs through October 20 at the Jungle Theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis.

The Guthrie Theater today announced a return engagement for An Iliad, the single-actor storytelling adaptation of Homer's Greek classic about the siege of Troy. The play features Stephen Yoakam (more than 75 Guthrie productions including a lauded turn as Bertolt Brecht in 2012's Tales from Hollywood and as Creon in 2011's The Burial at Thebes) as The Poet and is directed by Benjamin McGovern (The Edge of Our Bodies, Circle Mirror Transformation). An Iliad is written by Lisa Peterson (director of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Guthrie in 2012, as well as this summer's acclaimed production of Clybourne Park) and Denis O'Hare from a translation of Homer by Robert Fagles.

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for its production of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya. Guthrie Artistic DirectorJoe Dowling will helm Brian Friel's modern adaptation of the Chekhov classic. First produced at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, in 1998, Friel's adaptation renders the language of the play into a modern idiom and offers humor and further developed characters' roles and relationships. Uncle Vanya-a play that has not been performed on the Guthrie stage in nearly 25 years-begins performances on September 14 on the Wurtele Thrust Stage.
