Ciaran Sheehan Hosts Bay Street Theatre's Holiday Concert and Sing-A-Long Tonight

Bay Street Theatre has announced a special holiday event for the entire family. The 4th Annual HOLIDAY CONCERT AND SING-A-LONG tonight, December 18 at 7 pm features the Broadway Irish tenor Ciaran Sheehan accompanied by pianist Brenda Landrum, and is made possible by the generous gifts of some Bay Street patrons. Suggested donation is $10 and a canned good for our local food pantry.

My journey with the cast of A Christmas Carol, The Musical, now playing at Creative Ministries Performing Arts Center (CMPAC), comes to end with their opening. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Ms. Ahrens and Mike Ockrent, this wonderful cast surely didn't disappoint. Now playing through December 30th at the Oakdale, Long Island, theatre, you're in for a wonderful evening when you see this Timothy Pappalardo directed production originally presented by Madison Square Garden.
Bay Street Announces Kids Camp in February

Bay Street Theatre is pleased to announce its upcoming February School Vacation Kids Camp, February 18, 19 and 20. The camp is for students age 8 through 12, and runs from 9am - 3 pm each day at the Bay Street Theatre. Cost is $255 for the three-day camp per child.

The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport prepare for their 7th Holiday production at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village. They are the first to stage Charles Dickens' classic, "A Christmas Carol", and are happy to continue this Northport Village holiday tradition as only the Minstrel Players can do it! Performances are one weekend only tonight, December 7th and Saturday, December 8th at 8 P.M. and a 3 P.M. matinee on Sunday, December 9th. Meet the cast in the photos below!

The John W. Engeman Theater kicked off their holiday show, A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas, just as Hurricane Sandy stormed across the area. One of the shows underlying themes is that Christmastime is a time of kindness and charity, so the owners of the John W. Engeman Theater have decided to raise money to help in the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

A Master toy maker has been making beautiful toys and dolls that come to life. His secret ingredient is the magic doll dust that he keeps locked up in his magic trunk. Because they are so special and he is so selfish he refuses to sell them. When the dolls discover that something is missing, that they don't feel complete, they look in the magic trunk and discover a jar full of hearts. They each put one on, feeling the warm glow of love and then spread that love with the toy maker who learns how to 'share' his toys.

The show was fantastic to begin with. The John W. Engeman Theatre's retelling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol has a refreshing taste to the classic favorite. Directed by Mark Adam Rampmeyer and adapted by Michael Wilson, this production runs through January 6th at the beautiful Northport theatre.
