(12/20/2012) - The Brooke Jackman Foundation and actors from the Screen Actors Guild Foundation BookPALS program just visited PS362 in the Far Rockaways. The SAG Foundation actors, including film star Samatha Mathis from the movies Little Women, Broken Arrow and How to Make an American Quilt, performed a dramatic reading of favorite children's books while wearing hilarious holiday hats, then distributed Brooke Packs -- backpacks full of books and school supplies -- to the 200 children in attendance. Other actors from the SAG Foundation's BookPALs children's literacy program included Broadway legend Kimilee Bryant from Phantom of the Opera, Dana Marie Ingraham from Spiderman: Turn off the Dark, Dionne Figgins from Motown: The Musical, and others. PS362, where the performance occurred, has just reopened after damage from Sandy.

(10/25/2012) - The camels, sheep and donkey reported to Radio City Music Hall for their first day of rehearsals for the 2012 Radio City Christmas Spectacular and their starring role in the "Living Nativity' today, October 25, 2012. The Rockettes welcomed back their four-legged friends-the camels, sheep and donkey will take part in the Rockettes Celebration!, which celebrates 85 years of the Rockettes performing in New York City. The "Living Nativity" has been a beloved part of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular since its inception. Check out photos of the Rockettes and their animal friends below!

(10/17/2012) - In the spirit of generosity and goodwill, the Grinch read Dr. Seuss' famed children's book, How The Grinch Stole Christmas! in front of twenty-five Garden of Dreams children and officially kicked off a charity book drive in support of the Garden of Dreams Foundation. The children also created two-sided Grinch masks as part of the Children's Museum of Manhattan's holiday programming that will be featured at the museum's dedicated-Grinch workshop exhibit, opening on October 20. (10/16/2012) - On Sunday October 14, 2012, Broadway Workshop hosted a one day musical theatre master class with Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher, NBC's SMASH). 18 lucky Broadway Workshop students between the ages of 13-18 participated in this 4 hour class. In addition to working with Mr. Borle on song interpretation and audition technique, students also took part in a dance master class with season 1 SMASH associate choreographer, Valerie Salgado. The sold out workshop was held at Ripley Grier Studios and is part of Broadway Workshop's fall master class series.
