(12/03/2018) - Pan Asian Repertory Theatre (Tisa Chang, Founding Artistic Producing Director), breaking new ground through a new educational initiative and reaching out to elementary grade students and families with children, launches the 2018-2019 season with the New York premiere of the play The Emperor's Nightingale, by Damon Chua. Directed by Chongren Fan, the six-member cast features Leanne Cabrera, Ya Han Chang, Dinh James Doan,Jonathan Frye, Brian Kim, and Roger Yeh.  Performances began November 25, 2018 at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.  Opening Night was Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Broadway vets, Danette Holden, who was last seen in New York City in the acclaimed Off Broadway production of Cagney, the Musical and Kevin Csolak, currently in Tina Fey's Mean Girls on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre hosted Hunterdon's Stangl Stage Holiday Cabaret, Shine On, to high acclaim this past Sunday. Produced by LBC Talent, NYC the event featured multigenerational homegrown Hunterdon County talent making their mark on the world stage on Broadway, in the music industry, in film and television.

The debut of the new series featured a benefit reading of Bruce Graham's "The Outgoing Tide" directed by Marsha Mason and starring Mason, Peter Strauss ("Rich Man, Poor Man") and Michael Nathanson (Netflix's "The Punisher" and BCP's "Chapter Two"). Victor Slezak ("Blue Bloods") provided narration.

(11/27/2018) - Independent artist collective - known as the Indie Collaborative - proudly made their debut public performance at the world famous Carnegie Hall at the Weill Recital Hall in New York City on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 8 PM. This performance marked a milestone in the three-year old organization that supports and promotes the music profession, featuring three different genres of music: Musical Theater, World Music, and American Roots/Country Music.

(11/26/2018) - Andrea Miller, Artistic Director of Gallim, returns to The Joyce Theater after a year as the choreographer-in-residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Building on her discoveries there, Miller's new work, To Create a World, harnesses the uncompromising virtuosity and raw vulnerability of the Gallim dancers in a provocative study of the human body and its instinct to survive. Performances are February 12-17, 2019 (Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30pm, Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm). The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street), in Manhattan.

Agnes Hsu-Tang, who received the New-York Historical Society Medal of Merit for Public Engagement; Harry Potter editor Arthur A. Levine, who received the New-York Historical Society Distinguished Service Award; and world-renowned entertainer and celebrated Harry Potter audiobook voice actor Jim Dale, who received the 2018 History Makers Award in recognition of the exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic, now on view at New-York Historical.

(11/16/2018) - The Acting Company (Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) honored director and artistic leader Bill Rauch and the married civic leaders Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel and Ambassador Carl Spielvogel- individuals whose exemplary work aligns with the artistic and educational ideals of the storied repertory company that produces nationally recognized theater productions and arts education programs-at the Company's 2018 Fall Gala, on November 12. Held at the historic Metropolitan Club (One East 60th Street), the event raised nearly $400,000 and brought together awards, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, dinner, and cocktails in celebration of theater and its contribution to American society. Tony Award-winner and The Acting Company alumna Harriet Harris hosted, with performances by Joanna A. Jones (Hamilton) and Tatiana Wechsler, featuring Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz.

Inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's aphoristic volume Human, All Too Human, the work investigates the stark contradiction between our race's capacity for beauty against its most destructive tendencies. ONLYHUMAN also deals with the various perception of a body, from human to post-human.

Visitors of all ages were able to meet astronaut Sunny the Snowpal in the Broadway window displays, titled "Believe in the Wonder of Giving." The six enchanted windows share a tale of friendship, family, adventure, and teamwork as Sunny works to save Christmas with the help of her friends.
