PlayhouseSquare Announces Fall For The Arts 10/27

The Community Engagement & Education Department at PlayhouseSquare is hosting its annual "Fall for the Arts" evening of professional development for Northeast Ohio educators of all grade levels and subjects on Wednesday, October 27 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare (1375 Euclid Ave.). The registration fee is $10.
"We look forward to helping educators find new ways to integrate the arts into their classrooms," stated Colleen Porter, director of community engagement & education. "Arts integration captures student attention, increases understanding and provides a creative outlet in the classroom that is beneficial for both teachers and students."This year's Fall for the Arts features a series of 30-minute workshops that provide educators with standards-based lesson plans, make-and-take activities and ideas to use in their classrooms. Topics include acting and literacy, poetry with puppets, media arts for classroom management, music and using dance in science and math lessons. Fall for the Arts is appropriate for classroom teachers, arts specialists, administrators and teaching artists. Refreshments will be served.
