Lifeline Theatre Seeks Submissions for Fillet of Solo Festival

By: Dec. 20, 2010

Lifeline Theatre artistic director Dorothy Milne and festival curator, former Live Bait Theater artistic director Sharon Evans, are pleased to announce the 15th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, produced by Lifeline Theatre July 21-August 7, 2011. The solo performance and storytelling festival will perform at Lifeline Theatre (6912 N. Glenwood Ave.) and BoHo Theatre's Heartland Studio space (7016 N. Glenwood Ave.) in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. Regular performance times will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. Artist listings and exact show times will be announced in April 2011.

Lifeline Theatre is accepting submissions from solo storytellers and writer/performers for the 2011 Fillet of Solo Festival through February 14, 2011.  Artists will be notified by March 14 as to whether or not they have been selected for the festival.

Submissions must include:
·    A script (as complete as possible)
·    Resumes for the writer/performer and proposed director
·    Technical requirements for the piece

Please note:
·    Festival organizers assume that submitted scripts will be performed by the writer. Please alert them if this is not your intention.
·    Scripts that include more than one performer are less likely to be selected.  In most cases, festival organizers do not consider these scripts to qualify as solo work.

Please send submissions to Dorothy Milne at dorothy@lifelinetheatre.com. No calls, please.  (Questions via email are welcomed.)
