J.C. Restoration Volunteers to Produce 109,000 Life-Saving Meals by BWW News Desk
- May 16, 2019 J.C. Restoration, Inc. (JCR) and hundreds of community members will work to feed thousands of starving children in the developing world. Through a partnership between J.C. Restoration and Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), volunteers will prepare 109,000 life-saving meals at this third FMSC MobilePack event hosted by JCR. The MobilePack will take place October 18, 2019 at the J.C. Restoration campus: 3200 Squibb Avenue, Rolling Meadows, IL.
Community members can support this MobilePack by making a donation to cover meal costs, or by volunteering to package food at the event. Donations may be given immediately, and volunteer registration will be available six weeks prior to the event. We also have sponsorship opportunities available. A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they're used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. - May 11, 2019 The 2019 Silicon Beach Film Festival promises to be a rewarding and spectacular experience. Now in its fourth year, the Silicon Beach Film Festival offers a refreshing venue for creative and innovative filmmakers to participate in the film industry.
The Silicon Beach Film Festival will screen films from June 14th-20th from 10 am to midnight, at the Cinemark 18 and XD located in Playa Vista at HHLA.
The opening night party will be held on June 13, at 6:00 pm at The Hilton Garden Inn, Marina Del Rey, and will feature an exciting panel of innovators in film. A panel of film experts will discuss some of the most important issues in the industry, including cutting edge technology, distribution, etc. Join the fun and festivities, as this is a great opportunity for filmmakers, industry experts, distributors and innovators to network.
'The Festival is a very exciting opportunity for filmmakers to screen in Silicon Beach - one of the largest technology centers in the world home to large film studios, production companies, film distributors and tech giants like YouTube,' said Festival Director, Jon Gursha, 'We created a great festival for independent films and emerging talent.'

Since its inception, the Silicon Beach Film Festival is known as an important event helping to reshape the film industry. It's a gathering of innovators in film, filmmakers, creative minds, and people who are pushing the frontiers of film.
This year's event promises to be an exciting one, with opportunities for new discoveries and collaborations. The festival will feature Southern California premiere screenings of both short films and features, and live screenings of several world movie premiers in two auditoriums.
The venue for the Silicon Beach Film Festival is world-class, with state of the art projection and sound via Digital Cinema Projection (DCP). Attendees will have access to additionally great facilities, including restaurants near and in the general area of the venue.

Tesfa Ethiopia is Organizing Charlotte's First Ethiopian Culture Festival by BWW News Desk
- May 04, 2019 Tesfa Ethiopia is a non profit organization committed to helping students in Ethiopia secure basic school supplies. Many of these students walk up to an hour to go to school and they do not have access to pens, pencils, uniforms, and other essential supplies.
The nonprofit is organizing Charlotte's first Ethiopian Cultural Event in order to raise funds for these students. The event will have a free outdoor area with food and activities for families. The inside of the event requires a $10 ticket purchase and will have music, activities, and an exhibit on Ethiopia.
The festival will take place at Midwood International and Cultural Center located at 1817 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC, 28205. It is open to the public starting at 12PM and ending at 6PM.
In the outdoor area there will be a bounce house and other fun activities for kids. There will also be authentic Ethiopian food available for purchase along with cotton candy and funnel cakes.
Inside the auditorium there is an exhibit about Ethiopia along with a DJ that will play Ethiopian music. There will also be performances by students including a play and fashion show.
The event is sponsored by Sindu Trucking, Kumon, Enat Ethiopian Restaraunt, Carolinas Group, Abyssinia Soccer Team, Abugida Cafe, Kera Market, Amhara Association of America, Carolinas Realty Group, Nile Grocery, and Our Bridge for kids.
