Christian Youth Theater - North Idaho (CYT-NI) presents Narnia the Musical at the Salvation Army Kroc Community Theater, 1765 W.Golf Course Rd., Coeur d'Alene, ID. Eighty two local school children ages 8-18 make up the cast with an additional 20+ on crew all overseen by over 70 adult volunteers. All of the children are currently taking theater arts classes in CYT's after-school theater educational program.  (more...)

???????On October 13th, Alley Repertory Theater will open Bull in a China Shop by Bryna Turner, a vibrant comedy about two fierce women who blazed a new trail for women's education at the height of the suffrage movement. Directed by Jason Haskins and Liberty Leeds-Klautsch, Bull in a China Shop will run for two weekends with a Sunday matinee to close the run. (more...)

I like going to Boise Little Theater. It's a great space with history. The old carpet. The unique three stages. I like the photo collages of previous shows. I like watching friends shine and new comers surprise us. Although my preferences aren't always in line with the theater's season, the little things that make it an experience can always be found. Buddy Guy will be taking the stage at the Morrison Center Thursday, June 21st at 7:30 pm.  At age 81, Buddy Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city's halcyon days of electric blues. Buddy Guy has received 7 GRAMMY Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award, 37 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him #23 in its '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.' (more...)

???????THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins January 30, 2018 at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts in Boise, Idaho and plays a limited one week engagement through February 4, 2018. In Boise, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of  tickets available at $25 a piece.   (more...)

Company of Fools' 22nd season of theatre continues in February with a production of Clybourne Park, a searingly funny play by Bruce Norris that won both the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. Clybourne Park will run Feb. 21 March 10 at the Liberty Theater in Hailey and will be directed by Denise Simone, one of Company of Fools' founding members and a Core Company Artist until late 2016. The Tell-Tale Farce comes to Stagecoach Theatre Jan 12 through Feb 3. The show is an American farce by Don Zolidis and directed by Shelby Bay. Edgar Allan Poe is just coming off the success of 'The Raven'. So a wealthy dowager commissions him to write her a poem for a vast sum. Only problem: the man who shows up to write the poem isn't Poe, he's Poe's mailman, and he's on a quest to woo the dowager's spinster niece. This is a freewheeling, door-slamming farce with a touch of the macabre. (more...)
