It appears the cast change didn’t hurt TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD out of the gate, though seeing how it fares during the lean winter months will be the true test.

It appears there were a lot of drops across the board

I was surprised to get a discount flyer in the mail for Mockingbird last week, and it's good through the holiday season.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

I'm really surprised WICKED hasn't had a discount code yet. They've had some weeks with some dips. Or even popping up at TKTS for even 20% or 30% off.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Agreed. Look’s like TKAM is selling primarily on title/reviews/marketing and not necessarily star casting. Congrats to our bdwy diva Kristin Chenoweth for nearing a $1M week! Lightning Thief continues to boggle my mind. Also, I’ll be curious to see if there is a significant bump next week for The Inheritance post-opening/reviews.

It's worth noting that MOCKINGBIRD has dropped $421k since Jeff Daniels' final week (not surprisingly, they kept raising the prices). However, $1.8mil is still an incredibly high gross. Numbers should stay north of 1.5 thru the New Year, but like you I'm also interested in seeing how the numbers will be come February. Same with MEAN GIRLS, JAGGED, and FROZEN.

Bad start for A CHRISTMAS CAROL...it really needed a star.

I find it interesting that The Rose Tattoo 93% full last week. When I went Wednesday night, at least half of the mezzanine was empty.

I was at the 6:30 performance of The Lightning Thief last night, and it was depressingly attended. My $39 balcony ticket was "upgraded" to a seat in the orchestra that is listed as $149 full price on Telecharge. The orchestra was maybe half full, and there was maybe one or two rows of the front mezzanine with people in seats. I'm sure it was not only because there's likely a limited audience for this show, but that performance time is really awkward (I selected it because I travel in from the city and could fit it in after a matinee) and probably isn't drawing families the way they'd hoped, and that can extend to the show, in general.

All of this is to say that I find it surprising, based on what I saw, that they even managed to fill 47% of the seats last week.

The Inheritance seemed sold out when I went to the Pt.1 and 2 performances- yet the gross seems quite low. I hope it can survive. Great gay themed theater is a wonderful thing.

I almost have to wonder whether The Lightning Thief has given up on marketing. I was walking down Broadway on Saturday and glanced across 49th and was like “oh, that’s still open”.

Also a bit shocked at how Cheno turned out. Saw the Sat matinee and it was definitely sold out, but my friend and I were looking at seating charts on TM throughout the week and theater didn’t seem full for most shows. That said, it was a fun afternoon (Benanti added to my pleasure) and Cheno was truly fantastic. I don’t know what was going on, but my friend and I were still on line at 2 on 40th waiting to get in. Good for the show, because everyone walking by asked what we were in line for!

I hope it succeeds. This past week it had to comp 2 performances for its opening so I understand the $200k dip.

It was really cold last week. Wonder if that affected the grosses for a lot of these shows.

Cheno's numbers are odd now that I look at them again. Her total run was for 8 performances over 2 weeks. She only did shows on Fri/Sat/Sun. I think those numbers are for both weeks combined.

Correct. If you look at the grosses chart for this week it reports 8 performance and last week it was not reported, so the numbers included in today’s grosses are for both weeks combined, total of 8 performances.

I love Kristin. I really do. But based on the PLETHORA of empty seats in the orchestra and mezzanine for this past Saturday evening's show, the "100% capacity" numbers were clearly fudged. Now, question is, what is the motive behind wanting to incorrectly report sold-out crowds throughout the run?

Industry Insight 11/11/19

Please note the gross and attendance figures for KRISTIN CHENOWETH: FOR THE GIRLS, playing a limited run of eight performances, will be reported cumulatively in week ending 11/17/2019.

Considering it was up at TKTS for each performance at 50% off, and several reports of a half-empty theater, her numbers seem largely inflated.

Could be a JCM/Hedwig situation, where a decent amount of people bought premium seating since they had to be that close, but then... 7 rows behind them, no one cared and it was discounted?

I'm guessing the producers just bought or comp'd the remaining tickets just to get that 100% rating?

Okay....I truly don't understand the panic that seems to come from Hadestown fans/stans. The show is consistently selling out, they just announced a new block of tickets (which doesn't mean much, I KNOW, but still), it won so many accolades across the board from being off-Broadway to its transfer....why are people worried?

it’s not directly said, but I don’t know...the way it’s phrased makes me think people are worried about it when it doesn’t show any sign of slowing down.

No one is worried about it. You're reading things into a comment that simply aren't there which I think you may have a tendency to do in general. As Freud is said to have famously remarked, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
