The Inheritance - Previews Dec 14

It seems that half of them are understudies for the show and the additional men are contracted under a rarely used Equity “extra” contract. I believe they make about half of a broadway production minimum salary. So roughly about $1100 a week. I’m sure they don’t need to sign in until some point during Part I. An insert is handed out after the performance listing the “extras”.

Interesting. I’m not convinced it packs the punch that the broadway version but I’m sure it resonates. I was lucky enough to see Shereen Ahmed as Eliza at LCT and I think she is perfection in the role and an actress to keep your eye on. She is an incredible actress with a glorious soprano voice. If the tour is coming near you be sure not to miss it.

Hmmm. I’m curious. How does the end play out on the tour? Does she stay in the house? Or move someplace? Obviously with the logistics of touring houses they can’t rely on it being easy for her to march up an aisle but I’m wondering how they decided to do this. Also...I guess maybe add a spoiler tag....thanks
Jagged Little Pill - Reviews Dec 12

Oooof! Saw this tonight and it pains me to say it but I hated it. I went in so excited since this original album was a big part of my 20’s. I thought it was a mess. To me it felt like a college grad student thesis project throwing every current hot button issue into the mix. As an audience, we have no time to connect to anyone and/or care and sadly the score becomes a collection of choral angst. I blame Diane Paulus and Diablo Cody. The script is sophomoric and the direction/design is lost. Lack

Are we honestly trying to compare Little Shop and Moulin Rouge? It’s apples and oranges, folks. I’ve seen both and I enjoyed both, thoroughly, but it’s kinda unfair to pin them against each other and try and compare/contrast them.

I’m thinking possibly Fun Home.

If there is a tie the Legacy Robe recipient from the previous show, who will pass on the robe, chooses amongst the qualifying cast members.

Agreed. Although, I think the sound must’ve been an issue. I felt like the majority of performers sounded a little off tbh. I’m sure nerves played a little part too. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen her perform live, right?

Always amazed/impressed that The Lion King is pulling in those numbers after all these years. Wow! So impressive.

Agreed. Look’s like TKAM is selling primarily on title/reviews/marketing and not necessarily star casting. Congrats to our bdwy diva Kristin Chenoweth for nearing a $1M week! Lightning Thief continues to boggle my mind. Also, I’ll be curious to see if there is a significant bump next week for The Inheritance post-opening/reviews.

There is no way this can play out it’s run unless the producers want to save face. They will never be able to turn these numbers around. Time to bow out and close up shop.

Ultimately, you need to have the goods to back it all up and clearly this show just doesn’t. It’s grossing under $200k and that in and of itself speaks volumes. Broadway audiences expect more for their money.

Typically the only time a live announcement is made is when the actor calls out after half hour where the ushers aren’t able to stuff the inserts. I think maybe you got the random playbill that got overlooked. As far as Hadestown (Timothy Hughes) Unless he has a specialty they are not required to do an insert.

Still wonder how much longer Mean Girls has.
Looks like Slave Play did comp a lot this week but I think once it opens and gets raves, it'll sell better."
I think Mean Girls ebbs and flows with the school calendar tbh and still has some legs. I’ll be curious to see how the Slave Play reviews turn ticket sales around. It seems rather polarizing and a bit of

Couldn’t agree more. Music Man will be the toughest ticket and those grosses should be fun to watch. The NYT spread this Sunday was sooo very Scott Rudin. He seems to be the master of marketing.

Hamilton’s numbers are so insane. MR! is holding strong maintaining the #2 spot for the past few weeks. What else is coming in this season to rival that? 🤷🏻♂️

I don't think we can classify MR as a “tourist show” just yet. With the grosses it’s pulling it’s proving itself to be one of the hottest shows atm. Let’s keep “tourist shows” to Chicago, Phantom, Lion King and Wicked... just sayin’

I gotta say I think this album is incredible and makes me super excited to see the show. Also, am I the only one on this board that thinks Aaron is quite possibly the best male broadway vocalist we have...he is SOARING....😍👍🏻👍🏻
