Netflix's THE PROM official thread/reviews/reactions Dec 11
2020, 02:52:37 PM This was lovely and honestly better than I even dreamed that it would be.
All of the characters are cast perfectly (yes, even Cordon) but dammit, Meryl is damn near iconic. It made me laugh, it made me cry and I’m just so happy that this is now available for the world to see. It’s been a rough year, but it made my unruly heart melt.

NBC Broadway Special? Dec 10
2020, 09:39:44 PM Yeah, anyone complaining about this special is insane. Theatres are dark and because of NBC, some performers are performing and Broadway is being shown to the masses.
I know we are all bitchy queens, but must we pick EVERYTHING apart?

People who aren’t skinny can also be just as healthy, just an FYI.

Full Warner Bros. 2021 film slate, including IN THE HEIGHTS, will debut in both theatres and on HBO Max Dec 3
2020, 02:08:53 PM I can’t imagine the film going experience going back to normal, sadly. Bother Regal and AMC have had talks about going into bankruptcy (AMC by the end of the year and Regal, I believe, by May). Going to the movies was already a dying thing, unless you have a big movie being released. The windows from theaters to streaming have gotten much, MUCH shorter and people have made it pretty clear they prefer streaming over the theater.
I don’t agree, but I also wouldn’t expect theaters to make

Full Warner Bros. 2021 film slate, including IN THE HEIGHTS, will debut in both theatres and on HBO Max Dec 3
2020, 01:41:41 PM Not to sound full of myself, but I really wish people would have listened when I was saying this was what was going to happen instead of laughing it off. Oh, well.
This is sad. Movie theaters are absolutely getting f-ed in this situation. These movies will also be torrented all over the internet. The movie business has officially changed.

CT2NYC said: "Earlier today, someone posted a bootleg of "It's Not About Me" on here, which, of course, has since been deleted, and the line is there. It's "We are liberals from Broadway.""
Aww, man.. I always miss the good stuff.

In the Heights on HBO Max? Nov 21
2020, 10:43:57 AM I promise some of y’all that this WILL put a large damper on the movie theater industry. It’s already been dying and windows have been getting smaller and smaller. People wanted streaming and now they’re getting it and I genuinely do not believe we are going to be going back to movie theaters in a big way.

In the Heights on HBO Max? Nov 19
2020, 11:36:46 AM I honestly wouldn’t be so quick to say no to this.
The fact that Wonder Woman, a sequel to a film that made nearly one billion dollars world wide is going straight to streaming is huge. If there was a possible resurgence of the movie theater experience, they would have held onto it until next summer, no questions asked. First with Mulan and now with Wonder Woman, we are in unprecedented times as far as film goes. Covid has for better or for worst changed how the majority sees films. <

ACL2006 said: "With this now less than two weeks away, I have to imagine these shows will have to rehearse. Anyone with inside info on who's back in NYC?"
I’m not sure who it was, but I saw a TikTok from
one of the members of Hamilton at the theatre for his fitting.

I regret not seeing... Oct 24
2020, 01:07:17 PM The Bridges of Madison County.
I was able to see the tour in DC, but I would have given to see it while it was on Broadway. One of my favorite scores of all time.

The question tho me is whether people will want see it. I have not seen it, but on this board a lot of people said it is very dark, somewhat depressing, dreary, none of which were comments on its quality.
Are enough people going to want to return to see something that some have voiced as being depres

Vanity Fair First Look at WEST SIDE STORY film Sep 14
2020, 02:44:21 AM I’m sorry, for anyone to believe this is actually being released in theaters this year is fooling themselves. There has been no marketing, every new release has tanked and everything is still being pushed back. There is no marketing because of the very real possibility of it being pushed back.

First Look At Meryl Streep & James Corden in The Prom Movie Aug 31
2020, 12:54:50 PM I don’t believe a Christmas release has been confirmed. Everything I’ve read has just said the fourth quarter of 2020. Of course, that could get delayed.
I doubt we will know a date until a month or so before hand. Netflix rarely puts out release dates far in advance

Hamilton Movie Reviews Jul 2
2020, 11:19:42 AM Disney has actually been submitting all of their Disney+ films for Emmy consideration, so I would be shocked if Hamilton was any different.
