I thought it would be fun to see what everyone has confirmed tickets to, and what they’re seriously considering seeing on Broadway between now and the end of the year.

STILL trying to decide on Beetlejuice, but I did just buy my ticket to Hadestown!

That gives me four confirmed shows on two trips to Broadway this year:

- Phantom of the Opera

- Kinky Boots

- Moulin Rouge

- Hadestown

This year, I've already seen Kiss Me Kate, Pretty Woman, Come From Away, The Other Josh Cohen, and Alice By Heart.

My only confirmed ticket is Dear Evan Hansen in September. My mom is retiring this year, and my sister and I are surprising her with tickets. Yes, I am the grumbling 30-year old who thinks the other 2017 Best Musical nominees were better, while my 60-something mother really wants to see Dear Evan Hansen What we are seeing on Broadway in 2019 Should be fun, though.

My partner and I are planning a trip in the spring to see Dave Malloy's Octet at Signature Theater. While we're there, I'm also hoping to see Tootsie, Hadestown, The Cher Show, and The Ferryman. My partner also wants to see The Prom, which I saw back in December. Will have to see how the slots work out.

Jagged Little Pill doesn't have a theater yet, but I really enjoyed it in Boston and am looking forward to seeing it again. I'm having trouble getting excited about Moulin Rouge - I don't like what I've heard about the changes from the film, and the ticket prices are quite high.

On the touring end, I'm seeing Hello Dolly tomorrow.

Have 2 visits to NY planned for this year.  One is May 1st to the 5th, the other is in November, probably right before Thanksgiving.

The May trip, I will be traveling solo.  I have six shows lined up over 4 days, and they are Hadestown, Ain't Too Proud, Hilary and Clinton, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gary, and Kiss Me, Kate.

November, I will be traveling with my girlfriend, and 3 of her sisters. (She has one other, who will not be joining us.) This will be her sisters' first visit to NY, so I will be showing all of them around.  I plan to see some shows while I am there.  Her sisters are not interested, but I am planning to take my girlfriend to a few.  I definitely want to take her to Moulin Rouge, and I am also considering the Tina Turner show if that is playing by then, as I have heard good things from London.

The first, and longest, of three trips this year begins next week with friends. Have tickets for:

- My Fair Lady
- The Ferryman
- Fiddler on the Roof
- King Lear
- Kiss Me Kate
- Come From Away
- Harry Potter & The Cursed Child

Taking a quick trip Labor Day weekend with my mother and sister. We’ve already bought tickets for Moulin Rouge and Come From Away. We may be adding on Dear Evan Hansen, but holding off on that for now. I saw Moulin Rouge in Boston twice and can’t wait for them to experience it.

Final NYC trip this year is in October with friends - seeing Moulin Rouge and Tootsie, and will be purchasing seats to Hadestown if/when it extends, as they are only selling through Labor Day right now.

This year, I’ve already been to NYC twice and saw these 12 shows:

Kinky Boots (again)
American Son
The Waverly Gallery
Torch Song
The Lifespan of a Fact
Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish
The Band’s Visit (again)
Network
Kiss Me, Kate
The Ferryman
Superhero
Dear Evan Hansen

Unless work sends me back to NYC before then, I’ll likely have to wait until later this year to return to NYC. Here are the shows I still most hope to see this year:

- [ ] To Kill a Mockingbird
- [ ] Oklahoma!
- [ ] Hadestown
- [ ] Tootsie
- [ ] Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune - (unlikley because it closes August 25)
- [ ] Moulin Rouge! - previews begin 6/28/2019
- [ ] Tina - previews start Fall 2019
- [ ] Jagged Little Pill - previews start Fall 2019
- [ ] Company
- [ ] Hamilton (might revisit)
- [ ] The Cher Show (Maybe)

To tide me over, I’m seeing some touring or local productions. Some here in Oklahoma City and some on my work travels:

Falsettos (Sacramento) - March 13
Waitress (OKC) - March 19
Hair (Lincoln, NE) - repertory company - it’s sold out, but I hope I can grab a cheap seat - March 27-29

A Bronx Tale (OKC) is playing OKC starting tomorrow and is selling horribly (over 600 tickets still available for tomorrow alone). Still trying to decide if it’s worth my time to grab a discounted $26 front row balcony seat in that huge theater.

Skipping NYC this year, for the first time in many years.  Will be seeing the tour of Finding Neverland at the end of this month and the tour of Come From Away in Orlando in June.  If Waitress tour offers lottery seats next week (it is selling badly so would be surprised if they didn't) will see that next week.

I am PRAYING I can make it this spring for Burn This, Gary, and Ink. All 3 look incredible in their own right. May catch Jagged Little Pill depending on the reviews.

Very impressive lists some of you have! I’m sooooo jealous. I do feel honored to be able to visit Broadway a couple of times a year and see these shows. All of my friends and co-workers get so fired up and energized when I talk about my trips and the shows I have booked, what’s coming to Broadway, and when helping them plan a trip. One of my friends, who has never been to NYC, is going in July for four days and I’ve been chatting it up with her on musicals she would probably enjoy. So many options, so little time. :)
