"Once Upon A Mattress" is a fun show. A good audition song would be one that shows your range.
How about "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins.

When I visit NYC, I usually buy all my shows in advance. As I am accustomed to balcony seats in the large theatres in Chicago's Loop, having balcony seats in the smaller theatres of Broadway is a treat as one is closer to the stage.
I have sat in the top row at many NY productions:
Bright Star and M Butterfly at the Cort
Matilda at the Shubert
The Humans, Dames at Sea, and Xanadu at the Helen Hayes
When's the Best Time to Check TDF? Apr 21

I have successfully cracked the megabus release of new dates on their bus schedules, and it is simply checking the site daily at varied times.
TDF and Megabus release their goods in about the same pattern: that is, it widely varies to encourage buyers to check their sites often.

Out of town tryouts almost always include the Broadway cast. If you look at Stephanie's Twitter account, several tweets are welcoming her back to Chicago.

Thank you for the clarification. I've always ridden the escalator up from the street level to the next level, but did not realize that the next level was floor 3. It is a long escalator ride, so it makes sense that it traverses non-stop from level 1 to level 3.
When I visit Broadway, I always stop by the Marquis Theatre to admire the second floor lobby wall of window cards.
The lobby is accessible even when no show is playing at the theatre. It is also a great place to find a clean and comfy washroom!
To access the Marquis wall of window cards, I recommend entering through the pedestrian corridor at the rear of the hotel property - the corridor is directly across the street from Shubert Alley when heading uptown.

This was a unique event, and 1iota needed to be sure that the house was full.
But you are in good with 1iota. They know that you showed up today. This fact looks GREAT on your audience record. Continue to show up for future 1iota events to build your reputation as a dependable audience member.

Orchestra sizzled. Great lighting. Ideal costumes. Great energy. Live audience a big plus. Whip scene 19 and 33 were my favorites. Curtain call well done.
Saw the Thursday March 22 performance from the balcony. Pedestrian dialogue, vanilla lyrics, no characters to root for. Terrific sound. You could easily hear the lyrics as the music was often soft. Strongest part of show was the final four songs of Act 1. Anytime a performer neared the orchestra pit cut outs, I held my breath, hoping no one would trip in. Many in audience checked the Loyola vs Nevada NCAA score at intermission.
As for the skewed balance of women over men, Julie Chen stated on TV before the celebrity series began that there were 11 contestants yet still 3 spots available. Regrets, I do not recall where I saw this though I did see it firsthand.
My hunch is that the production was searching for an even amount of 7 women and 7 men but had to settle for 11 instead of the planned 14 contestants.
Back in the winter of 1992 at the 6-week Chicago tryout of The Goodbye Girl at the Shubert, the show opened in a burger restaurant with a song by the 3 young girls of the cast and housekeeper Mrs Crosby - played by Carol Woods.
The number and scene was entirely cut after one week.
Going forward, Bernadette Peters "No More" scene 2 number started the show.
The Mrs. Crosby character was then left with only one number - the crowd pleasing, showstopping

What I love most are the double albums of Follies and Sweeney Todd. When I listen to these albums, it's like listening to a Four Act Musical.
Fiddler on the Roof, Gypsy, Into the Woods, LaCage aux Folles, The Music Man, Once Upon A Mattress, Purlie, The Roar of the Greasepaint- The Smell of the Crowd, Starlight Express, and They're Playing Our Song.
Admittedly, the albums are in A to Z order, mixed in with many more movie soundtracks.
