Seeing this on Thursday, December 13th with my girlfriend as part of a theater trip I am taking with her and another friend December 10 to the 15th. (We are also seeing Frozen, Harry Potter Parts 1 and 2, and The Ferryman). The show sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm happy to see the positive response to last night's performance here. I doubt this will last long, but it sounds like a show I will be glad I got a chance to see. Kind of like Bright Star a few years ago,
Thanks so much for the detailed information and good weather wishes! Yeah, we're going February 23rd, so hopefully the weather will be semi-decent that day. I live in Southern Wisconsin, just above the border of Illinois, so I can take a bus or train down, both of which are only 2 hours away from Chicago, and drop off about 10 to 15 minute walk away from most theaters.
I am also seeing Tootsie on Saturday, October 6th. I'll be going alone on that trip.&nbs
So, I was able to get 2 tickets to Dear Evan Hansen in Chicago at the Oriental Theater. The best we could get is Dress Circle on the Right. We got seats LL 2 and 4. The seats are on the aisle and the one right next to it, but it's been a long time since I've been in the Oriental, and I don't remember how the Dress Circle is set up, and how good a view we will have, since Row LL is second to the last row in the Dress Circle.
I don't know if you have your heart set on your hotel in Columbus Circle, but if you want a hotel that is close enough to theaters while still being on a quiet street, I always stay at The Michelangelo when I go on my theater trips. It's located on W 51st and 7th, right behind the Winter Garden theater (where School of Rock is currently playing). It's in close walking distance to all the theaters, while still being far enough away from the chaos of Times Square.
Did anyone sit in the Dress Circle? I'm in Row J in that section, and given how much I paid for the tickets, the seats had better be good and have leg room. My seats are 106 and 107 for my friend and I for both parts on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Just managed to get one ticket for this through Audience Rewards for the evening show on Saturday, July 7th. Best I was able to get is Orchestra R2, which is on the right side, but an aisle seat. It's about 13 rows back from the stage, but I guess I should be lucky I got in, given the sales for the show. Really looking forward to this.
Now to decide on my last ticket for the trip. Originally, Carousel was going to be a lock, but now not so sure. Still
I managed to get 2 Dress Circle tickets for Wednesday, December 12th for a friend and I. (We're going to see Frozen the night before.) Had to pay an arm and a leg, but worth it to go. Got Private lounge access with it, which I guess is their excuse for charging about the price of a NY hotel for 2 tickets.
I'm taking a friend to see Frozen in December, and we're looking at the Mezzanine seats. Specifically, we're looking at the center aisle, seven rows back, as that's about where the "Premium Seats" end for that section. The seats I'm looking at are 3 and 4 seats in, as the two on the aisle are labeled as handicapped accessible.
Given how huge the theater is, I thought the Mezzanine would give the best views. Has anyone
Since a lot of people are talking about Pearl, does she still squirt water out into the audience at one point?
When I saw the show in Chicago, she did I think at one point during the Daddy Knows Best number. The water squirted a little girl who was sitting in the seat next to me, and she started crying. Her mother was able to quiet her quickly, and I think the actors were embarrassed about it. I asked the mom at Intermission if the girl was doing okay, a
You don't know how much I would love to see the words "brilliantly stupid" in quotes on a marquee outside of the theater...
Sounds like the show I saw in Chicago last year. A lot of fun, a bit messy, but infectious energy. I kind of hope this one is embraced, and gets to play at least a year.
Who do I have to kill in order for this to happen?
Someone brought up The Muppets Take Manhattan, and I've always wondered...Did they shoot the finale of that film in an actual Broadway house, or was that a set duplicating one? I always assumed a set, but I was also always curious.
