I was underwhelmed by this production, but I’m glad whenever others find shows that resonate with them even if they don’t work for me. Still, even if Williams boosts box office, I doubt it’ll be boosted by more than the likely larger paycheck than she’s getting to replace Cearcy.

After sitting in rear mezz for Cabaret, I’ll never sit there again (I’m also 6’2” with bad knees). It was torture. I will say the ushers were able to reseat me in a rear mezz aisle seat for Act 2 which lessened the torture somewhat. At least I was no longer on the verge of tears. So if rear mezz is all that is in your budget, I’d go for an aisle seat. Also, not sure how much pregnancy weight you’re carrying, but the only reason I got that aisle seat at intermission was because that seat was too

I loved this when I saw it in London in 2016. It was my first day ever in London and this my introduction to London theater. I was also operating on only 30 minutes of sleep from the plane yet was totally enchanted with this production. I did see it after Sheridan had stepped out of the show. Natasha Barnes was my Fanny and she was phenomenal. Couldn’t make it to the cinema last night (lots of work air travel lately including yesterday which means when my plane landed yesterday, I went directly

I think that marquee cast, in addition to having a slightly shorter run, and the novelty of a “Broadway debut” on its 50th anniversary."
I too badly want this to do well. When I was in NYC last November, it was my imp

Wasn’t there tonight, but it is my experience that people who aren’t that discerning tend to like pretty much whatever they see and are often the ones to post the mo

They are having an affair (she is married), and it is Norma finding out about them that precipitates the major event that ends the show."

The Producers has the Leo/Ulla romance subplot."
Well, so far I’m 2 for 3. I’ll take it. Lol

And I find it ironic that in defending her freedom of speech, you are criticizing others for exercising theirs.
I really don’t have a problem with her answering questions in an interview as far as it relates to people who have hurt her. Not that she should give 2 figs what I think. I do find it rid

Okay Patti. Let us talk about rights. Audiences have the right to understand lyrics being sung. I was furious throughout WAR PAINT because the majority of yoursinging was unintelligible. The fact that you are temperamental is probably partly to blame because everyone associated with the show was likely afraid to bring that fact to your atten

Why? Is there a problem with the video screens?"
Agree with Allen, I wish there was a warning about this. Its the scenes where the ship is sailing to skull island. Theres a cutout on the stage floor shaped like the front hull of a ship that raises up.it looks like the stage is bobbing up and down on waves, which is a cool effec

I expected to hate this interview, but I enjoyed it. The people who she throws shade at all apparently had it coming. She’s not an “easy” person. She’s not a very forgiving person, which may not be very psychologically healthy, but it is her right and seems to be part of the package her personality which has allowed her to reach such artistic heights. If Company transfers to Broadway, I am so there. It would be my first and (and according to her) probably last chance to see her. Also, as a Madon

Should there be a SHOW BOAT revival anytime soon? Oct 10

It’s been two years since my one and only exposure to the show and as I said up thread I was slightly underwhelmed, but from what I recall, the storylines were appropriate for the time the show was set in. As I remember, it wasn’t condoning or normalizing the codependency (as Carousel and MFL seemed to do in their original iterations) so much as showing what it was like for women and people of color in that time. The era didn’t give them as much agency over they’d own lives. I don’t recall if al

I finally saw In The Heights 2 years in London in a set-up similar to Circle in the Square, except as I recall it was just bleachers on either side of the stage instead of in-the-round. It was great. When it is revived, I’d love to see it revived in similar fashion.
I do think maybe Lin is hesitant to okay a revival just yet since there is the upcoming movie which he might want to use to increase enthusiasm for a revival (sort of like the Chicago movie has possibly helped keep the revi
