Drama Learning Center Announces Upcoming Auditions For HAIRSPRAY

Drama Learning Center is pleased to announce upcoming auditions for DLC's Teen Professional Company, Teaching Young Actors, and their production of HAIRSPRAY. Auditions for Drama Learning Center's Jr. Company's Song and Scene Showcase will also be held. Students who are age eligible for both companies will be considered for both and placed accordingly at the discretion of the directors. To schedule a time for an audition please call 410-997-9352.

Available by audition only, the TYA class allows students to work in a professional theatre environment as they learn about all aspects of theatrical work. Junior Company is an opportunity for upper-level students with TYA aspirations to further develop skills in audition preparation, harmony signing, character development, and more. Junior Company class will culminate with showcase performances.

T.Y.A. Teen Professional Company "HAIRSPRAY"
Auditions: By appointment Feb 1, 3, 8, & 10
Callbacks: Feb 26
Eligible Grades: 8-12
Class Times: Saturdays 2-5 pm, with select Sunday and Monday evenings for small group work.
Class Dates: Mar 5 - June 11 (no class Apr 23)
Dress Rehearsals: Jun 13-16
Shows: Jun 17-25 (Show dates subject to change based on Howard County exam schedule)
Cost: $565 ($300 due at first class, balance due May 1)

T.Y.A. Junior Company "Song & Scene Showcase"
Auditions: By appointment February 1, 3, & 10
Eligible Grades: 6-10
Class Times: Sundays 6-9 pm, Feb 27 - May 1, select Mondays
Final Rehearsals: May 3-6
Showcase: May 7
Time: TBD
Cost: $250 ($175 if registered for additional production class)

To Audition
1. Call 410-997-9352 to set up an audition time.
2. Prepare a song of your choice (*Sheet Music Required*) and a 2-minute monologue.
3. Fill out TYA Audition Form, rehearsal conflict sheet, and read and sign the TYA
Expectations Form (all available at http://www.dramalearningcenter.com/tya.html). You will not be able to audition without completed paperwork.
4. Bring the forms to your audition along with a recent picture.
5. Break a leg!
