Rashad Jennings, Amber Tamblyn, Hari Nef And Chris Gethard Join The Cast Of Right Before I Go Benefit for Suicide Awareness

Producers announced today that NFL running back and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" winner RASHAD JENNINGS, Amber Tamblyn, Hari Nef and Chris Gethard will join the cast of the New York City premiere of Stan Zimmerman's Right Before I Go. Directed by Michael Wilson, Right Before I Go. will be performed as a one-night-only benefit on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Town Hall (123 W 43rd Street). A student panel / talkback will take place at 6:30 PM followed by the 8:00 PM performance. A VIP post-show cocktail reception will take place immediately after the performance for anyone who purchased a VIP level ticket. Proceeds from the evening will benefit prominent suicide awareness and prevention charities, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org) and JED Foundation (JEDFoundation.org). Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The previously announced cast for Right Before I Go. includes Elizabeth Ashley, Wilson Bethel, Ellen Burstyn, Maggie Lacey, Judith Light, Jennifer Lim, Maulik Pancholy, Lois Smith, Raviv Ullman and Vanessa Williams.

RASHAD JENNINGS amassed 3,772 rushing yards, 1,469 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns during his eight years in the NFL. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and played with the Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants. During his time with the Giants, Jennings became one of the team's most impactful players on the offensive side of the field. The RASHAD JENNINGS Foundation is dedicated to inspiring youth by making education fun, providing mentorship for individual success and promoting health and fitness. In May 2017, Jennings won the 24th season of ABC's popular primetime reality show, Dancing with the Stars.

Amber Tamblyn has been a writer and actress since the age of 9. She has been nominated for an Emmy, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award for her work in television and film. In 2007 she won the Locarno Film Festival award for Best Actress for her work in the film Stephanie Daley, in which she starred opposite actress Tilda Swinton. Her television credits include "Joan of Arcadia" and "House." In film she has starred in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Danny Boyle's 127 Hours opposite James Franco as well as Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Most recently, Tamblyn wrote and directed the critically acclaimed feature film Paint It Black, based on the novel of the same name by Janet Fitch. The film was acquired by Netflix and will premiere in 2018. Tamblyn is an accomplished and critically acclaimed author whose writing and poetry has been published by Simon & Schuster, Harper Collins, and countless notable publications.

Hari Nef is best known for her role as Gittel in Amazon's award-winning "Transparent." She will soon be seen as Bex in Sam Levinson's upcoming film Assassination Nation and in Lifetime's new series "You," in which she plays the role of Blythe, a talented and competitive peer in Beck's MFA program.

Chris Gethard is a comedian, actor, writer, and the creator and host of the TruTV cult variety talk show, "The Chris Gethard Show." Chris is also the host of the popular Earwolf podcast "Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People." Gethard's one-man show "Career Suicide," presented by Judd Apatow, premiered on HBO in May and was nominated for a Lucille Lortel award for its Off-Broadway run. He recently starred in the film Don't Think Twice and can also be seen in the Comedy Central series "Broad City" as Todd.

A student panel will take place prior to the performance, starting at 6:30 PM at Town Hall. Open to high school and college student groups attending the performance, the panel will include representatives from each of the beneficiary organizations (AFSP.org and JEDFoundation.org) along with a trained representative from the Traumatic Loss Coalition (TLC) and Wendy Sefcik of Remembering TJ. Right Before I Go. brings to life the last words of those lost to suicide, including the heartsick, bullied, veterans, mentally ill and the achingly lonely. This poignant, deeply moving, and surprisingly light play invokes a raw and authentic approach to storytelling in an effort to help broaden public perspective of suicide, eliminate the stigma associated with depression, and strengthen the relationship between survivors and those struggling every day.

Right Before I Go. made its world premiere as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2015, where it received rave reviews. Stage Scene LA called it "Powerful!" and "Deeply Moving!." while ShowMag.com exclaimed, "This piece needs to be heard."

Proceeds from the evening will benefit American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the JED Foundation.
