NECROMANCERS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN: A Variety Show Inspired By A 100 Year Old Book, Opens 9/24

Each month, Theater of the Apes plucks a long forgotten volume from the shelves of the New York Society Library and resurrects it as NECROMANCERS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, a low budget variety show.

September's book is:
HOW TO SING A SONG: The Art of Lyric and Dramatic Interpretation (1918) by Yvette Guilbert (a cabaret star of fin-de-siecle Paris and a favorite subject of Toulouse-Lautrec)

FROM THE BOOK: Make the public conceive that you too are a poor human being...full of hope, full of deception...a poor human being dreaming of kindness, of beauty, of love.
