'Hamlet 2' Sundance Hit Sells for $10 million to Focus

Hamlet 2 premiered Monday at  the Sundance Film Festival and Variety is reporting that yesterday the film was picked up for distribution by Focus Features. The film stars Steve Coogan  as an English teacher  who writes a sequel to  Shakespeare 's play in order to save the theater department. 

According to Variety: "The deal followed an all-night bidding war at CAA's condo, with Summit Entertainment, Weinstein Co., Lionsgate and Warner Independent Pictures as contenders. Micah Green and Ben Cramer at CAA closed the deal with Focus in the wee hours of Tuesday morning."

The film also stars Catherine Keener, Amy Poehler and David Arquette and is directed by Andrew Fleming.
