The American Opera Project announces the return of its Composers & the Voice program for its 2021-2023 seasons. Created and led by Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood, six composers and up to three librettists will be selected for two-year fellowships to explore the fundamentals of writing for the voice and lyric theater.

Today's announcement includes the following performances that were to take place at the Kauffman Center (in date order) including those previously postponed in fall 2020.

Omaha Performing Arts has announced six Tony-nominated Broadway musicals, including the return of HAMILTON, will make a stop at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater during O-pa’s 21/22 Broadway season. 

Dates are announced today for the 2021/2022 Premera Blue Cross Broadway at The Paramount season bringing back extraordinary entertainment to The Paramount Theatre. They have announced that they have rescheduled six shows and were able to add back the previously cancelled production of MEAN GIRLS to complete the season package.

The Hippodrome Theatre and the team at Broadway Across America have been collaborating with Broadway producers to relaunch shows and reroute touring schedules throughout North America. The Hippodrome has announced that seven of the eight previously announced shows have been rescheduled beginning in the fall of 2021. 

Looking beyond the current lockdown, stay at home orders, restrictions on international travel, and quarantines, The Royal Conservatory is required to reschedule or cancel many of the upcoming concerts.

Broadway is coming back and it was worth the wait. The FSCJ Artist Series has been able to reschedule four of the five Broadway season package shows originally announced for the current season.

This week, the Ontario government extended and tightened restrictions for everyone in Ontario. Unfortunately, these new restrictions mean that concert halls remain closed to audiences and now we also are unable to have artists or production staff creating livestreams.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced plans to resume production in Fall 2021. On deck is Jeanine Tesori and Tony Kushner’s CAROLINE, OR CHANGE starring Sharon D Clarke, directed by Michael Longhurst, and choreographed by Ann Yee at Studio 54. Additionally, Alice Childress’s TROUBLE IN MIND, directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, will debut at the American Airlines Theatre.

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has provided an update to patrons on the status of the 2020-2021 subscription season shows. The upcoming season's Broadway, Classical and Dance shows are moving to a future season, with many Subscriber Specials moving as well.

North Carolina Theatre has announced changes to its upcoming 2021-22 season. NCT will return to the stage at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in May of 2021, when the season opens with On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, which is planned to be adapted with all social-distanced safety in mind.

The Royal Shakespeare Company will focus its programming in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Stratford-upon-Avon over the coming year, with the Swan Theatre and The Other Place remaining closed until 2022.

Popejoy Presents Broadway in New Mexico announced the much anticipated Broadway blockbuster, HAMILTON, has postponed its premiere appearance in Popejoy Hall due to continued concerns for the health and safety of patrons, cast, volunteers, staff and crew.

The Hawaii State Theatre Council, a 50-year old organization devoted to supporting theatres in Hawai'i, announces that it is embarking on a season of strategic planning.  During this time, the Council Members will focus on the organization's mission, values, vision, and state-wide practices, and will cease its usual activity of adjudicating island performances and giving awards at the end of the season.

Frostburg State University's Department of Music will present a livestreamed non-degree recital by student sopranos Hannah Polk and Ryann Cooper on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. They will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen, baritone Gregory Scott Stuart and student tenor Casey Swartz. The performance schedule for the Palace Theater in Waterbury, like other performing arts venues across the country, is continuing to evolve. While the Palace Theater awaits reopening guidelines, Broadway shows are planning and re-planning their national tour schedules.

Emily Behrmann, General Manager for the series branded Carlsen Center Presents, today announced a revised 2020-2021 fall season which leaves much of the fall programming cancelled or postponed.  Final determinations on December programming will be made in October. The January - May 2020-2021 programming remains on the calendar.
