MOTHERS AND SONS to Offer $30 Tickets for Patrons Under 30 and Talk Back with Terrence McNally, 3/14

The new Broadway play Mothers and Sons from 4-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally will offer a one-night-only special ticket price of $30 for patrons under the age of 30 for the Friday, March 14th performance of the show at 8PM. Ticket quantities are limited and must be purchased in person at the Golden Theatre box office at 252 West 45th Street during normal box office hours. Limit one ticket per patron with a valid ID. This performance will be followed by a talkback hosted by Playbill's Blake Ross and NY1'sFrank DiLella, with a panel discussion to include Terrence McNally and members of the cast. (more...)

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to the Majestic Theatre for 24 performances, March 12-30. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Majestic Theatre box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. (more...)

Tony Kushner's Angels in America is that rare entity: a work for the stage that is profoundly moving yet very funny, highly theatrical yet steeped in traditional literary values, and most of all deeply American in its attitudes and political concerns. Kushner tells the story of a handful of people trying to make sense of the world. Prior is a man living with AIDS whose lover Louis has left him and become involved with Joe, an ex-Mormon and political conservative whose wife, Harper, is slowly having a nervous breakdown. These stories are contrasted with that of Roy Cohn (a fictional re-creation of the infamous American conservative ideologue who died of AIDS in 1986) and his attempts to remain in the closet while trying to find some sort of personal salvation in his beliefs. THE LAST SHIP - the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy winner Sting, and book by Tony winner John Logan and Puliter Prize-winner Brian Yorkey - will begin previews on Broadway at the Neil Simon on September 30 prior to opening night on October 26, according to producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker.
