'Within Us' Remounted by LA City College Theatre Academy

Fred Fate, Chair and Producing Director of the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy (LACCTA) has announced the Theatre Academy will open its 79th Annual Spring Season with A Limited Return Engagement of Within Us, an original work of ensemble-based physical theatre developed and inspired by an investigation of The Seven Deadly Sins of Pride, Envy , Anger, Sloth, Greed, Lust and Glutton.

Conceived by Leslie Ferreira and Directed and Choreographed by Leslie Ferreira and Tina Kronis. Within Us is an exploration of the boundary line between dance and theatre.  It considers the relationship between motion and emotion and how what is physical and what is emotional can interrelate.  On a physical level, it is a collage and a montage of images. 

Upcoming performances, which will benefit the Theatre Academy, will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 7:15PM; Friday, February 8, 2008 at 8PM and Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 8PM.  All performances of this Limited Engagement of Within Us will be held in the Caminito Theatre; Los Angeles City College; 855 N. Vermont Avenue (between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue); Hollywood, CA.  This dance-theatre work, which utilizes a variety of specialized and experimental techniques, including Viewpoints, Tanztheatre, and Russian and Polish Theatre Work, is recommended for mature audiences.

The cast of the Limited Return Engagement of Within Us includes:  Egbert Bernard, John Christopher, Domingos Correia, Sheena Duff, Amber Harris, Martin Head, Jerid James, Svetlana Kisiyan, Ksenia Litomisky, Masafumi Masamoto, Chie Saito, Efren Sanchez, Constance Strickland and Memory Willis  Understudies include:  Benjamin Clark, William Daniels, Guebri Jaigle, Natasha O'Neill, Frank Salinas, Mark Skenn and Shannon Stevens.

Production personnel include:  Kevin Morrissey (Scenic Designer); James Moody (Lighting Designer); Mandie Gonzalez (of Long Beach as Student Costume Designer), Diane Sisko and Eddie Bledsoe (Faculty Costume Supervisors); Chiara Russi (of Los Angeles as Stage Manager), Kevin Sanchez (Sound Designer); Danyelle King (of Los Angeles as Assistant Stage Manager); Deena Mullen (Props and Stage Manager Supervisor); Efrain Corona (Scene Shop Supervisor); Vernon Yonemura (Sound/Lighting Supervisor) and Kathleen Becket (Theatre Manager).

Tickets are $20 each for General Admission, and $10 each for Students, Seniors, Veterans, Faculty and Staff.  Group Rates for Groups of 10 or more are also available; please call the Box Office for details.  Seating is available at all performances on a first-come, first-served basis.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.goldstarevents.com or by calling the LACCTA Box Office directly at 323-953-4000, ext. 2990.
