Tim Realbuto Set for Mini NYC Tour of WUNDERKIND This Fall

Award-winning actor/writer Tim Realbuto, who recently had a critically acclaimed and sold-out (not-so-solo) solo show at 54 Below entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help), will tour a new show this fall. Realbuto and his publicist Laurie Sheppard recently announced that Tim has tweaked the show and will present it as a mini three-stop New York City tour under the new name Tim Realbuto: WUNDERKIND.

The 54 Below version of the show featured Realbuto talking about his life growing up in the theatre, with the help of some very special guest stars including Tony Award winner Beth Leavel, Derek Klena, Jason Gotay, Jenna Leigh Green, Natascia Diaz, Laurissa Romain, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Drama Desk nominee Christina Bianco, and Broadway legend Joy Franz. Even though WUNDERKIND is very much based on Alone (With Plenty of Help), there is no guarantee that these co-stars will continue with the new show due to scheduling conflicts.

The first stop on Realbuto's WUNDERKIND tour is The Triad Theatre on Monday, September 1st at 7:00 PM, which happens to be Tim's 30's birthday. Confirmed guests for that show include "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" star Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked; Bare: A Pop Opera), current Pippin star Ariana DeBose (Bring It On; Motown; "So You Think You Can Dance"), Laurissa Romain (South Pacific; Finally Famous; "Are We There Yet?") and Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny and Sylvia; One Night With Fanny Brice; Ghostlight). Several more guest stars will be announced in the coming weeks. The ensemble will include newcomer Thomas Ian Johnson as The Lover (the role previously played by Spiderman's Jason Gotay in the 54 Below production, who left the show due to scheduling issues), as well as Julie D'Moure (Hair) and Allison St. Rock (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). The September 1st show will also include a special performance by Tim's Ghostlight co-writer Matthew Martin.

Even though WUNDERKIND is very much based on Alone (With Plenty of Help), the production team promises many new surprises and changes.

This is how WUNDERKIND is described: "Former child 'star' and current NYC based award-winning writer and performer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; The Emperor's Club) has just turned 30 and is struggling with where he fits in the world, where he has been and where he is going. In this deeply personal, poignant, and hilarious show Tim will tell the (mostly) true story of how he grew up in show business and went from former child actor to the adult writer of the popular new Broadway-Bound musical Ghostlight. Some of Tim's famous Broadway friends will help him along the way, playing different characters from his past, as well as the voices in his head. Expect an evening filled with plenty of well-known tunes, originals, diva impressions, and special guest appearances from popular stars of stage and screen. Was Tim ever a wunderkind? Is it too late to become one now? Isn't that funniest sounding word ever?"
