Rob Reiner Comments On Sondheim & Goldman Movie Musical Project SINGING OUT LOUDAcclaimed actor and director Rob Reiner comments on an abandoned movie musical project he embarked on with two-time Academy Award-winning screenwriter William Goldman and multi-award-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim back in the early 1990s as part of a new interview.

Reiner remarks that the planned 1992 original movie musical SINGING OUT LOUD is one of a handful of projects he most regrets not seeing to fruition.

"You have certain things that are very hard to get made," Reiner candidly relays.

"There are two projects that I was dying to make. One was a musical. I've always wanted to make an original musical that was made for film. Not like a Broadway show like JERSEY BOYS or CHICAGO, or ANNIE or whatever. But something that was actually crafted for film," Reiner says of his initial ambition to embark on the project with Goldman and Sondheim.

Reiner elaborates, "So I worked with William Goldman, and with Stephen Sondheim on it, and we just could never get it right. So that was one."
