Rod Stewart took the stage Oct. 10 crooning songs from "The Great American Songbook V" at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Florida in a private performance prior to the new $7 million performing arts center's grand opening on October 23 featuring two-time Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone.

The 14,864-square-foot, 324-seat waterfront performing arts facility is managed by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, which also manages and provides programming for its own three stages as well as the Parker Playhouse, the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center and the Miramar Cultural Center/Arts Park.
