Dramatic Publishing Company has announced its exclusive representation of the North American professional and amateur stage performance rights to EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL. Now in its fifth smash year in Las Vegas, the 'killer musical' joins the Dramatic Publishing catalog alongside other great plays and musicals such as A CHRISTMAS STORY THE MUSICAL, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, TWELVE ANGRY MEN, ALL AMERICAN, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, STRAIGHT, and1984.

Book and lyrics for EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL are by George Reinblatt, with music by Frank Cipolla, Christopher Bond, Melissa Morris and Reinblatt, music supervision by Frank Cipolla, additional lyrics by Christopher Bond and additional music by Rob Daleman.

The company's president, Christopher Sergel III, stated, "Dramatic Publishing is honored and delighted to include EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL in our catalog. It has become a wildly popular musical classic and we will continue to build on this legacy."

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL, based on Sam Raimi's '80s cult classic film THE EVIL DEAD and two spectacularly successful sequels also written and directed by Raimi, EVIL DEAD II and ARMY OF DARKNESS, tells the tale of five college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force. And although it may sound like a horror, it's not! The songs are hilariously campy, and the show is bursting with more farce than a Monty Python skit. EVIL DEAD THE MUSICALunearths the old familiar story: Boy and friends take a weekend getaway at an abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes an ancient evil spirit, friends turn into Candarian Demons, boy fights until dawn to survive. As musical mayhem descends upon this sleepover in the woods, "camp" takes on a whole new meaning with uproarious numbers like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons," "What the F&%* Was That?" and "Do the Necronomicon."

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL has been performed in more than 200 cities worldwide. The original Off-Broadway cast recording was released on April 2, 2007, by Time Life Records and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Show Charts.

The original films launched the careers of Bruce Campbell and director Sam Raimi, who would collaborate on several films together throughout the years, including Raimi's SPIDER-MAN trilogy. THE EVIL DEAD grossed $2.4 million during its 1981-82 theatrical run. It has since developed a reputation as a major cult film and has been cited among the greatest horror films of all time.
