Believe in magic and you will find it ... and it's closer than you think.

The Cape Town Magic Club was founded by Marcel Oudejans in 2016 and hosts the longest-running magic show in South Africa. "Monday Night Magic" has already had three successful seasons and is about to embark on its fourth, firmly positioning it as a night of fun and entertainment which showcases all manner of illusionists, mentalists, and magical sideshow acts - local and international, those with decades of experience as well as the new kids on the block.

Magicians, with their mystifying misdirection and sleight-of-hand have entertained and baffled audiences throughout the centuries - the first book containing explanations of magic tricks appeared way back in 1584 - from country fairs to monumental television spectaculars, from rabbits out of hats to close-up street magic that leave us gasping in amazement. While the illusions and showmanship have evolved, one thing remains: the pure wonder and joy of witnessing something utterly unbelievable.

We invite you to delve a little deeper into this mystical world...

"Monday Night Magic" Season 4 launches on 5 June 2017 and runs until 31 July 2017, in its original home, The Cape Town Club in Queen Victoria Street. Two shows every Monday will feature an eclectic and magical mix of performance artists entertaining audiences in an intimate 50-seater basement theatre accessed via a secret entrance, which adds to the aura of mystery. In keeping with the history of the magnificent building, guests will be greeted by gorgeous Black Orchid Burlesque flapper girls who will show them the way to the venue where they will be able to order a drink, mingle with the magicians before and after the show, and have photographs taken.

Magic is so much more than mind-boggling illusions; the performances include elements of comedy, more than a little theatrical drama, and willing audience participation to create a fully immersive entertainment experience. Revived and refreshed for a new generation of spectators, "Monday Night Magic" is perfect date night material, be it the first date or the 100th. Gather a group of friends for safety in numbers in the premium front row seats where there's nowhere to hide or cut loose with your colleagues for a corporate event with a difference.

Being the only magic theatre in Africa, Cape Town Magic Club supports the development of up and coming magicians through encouraging and mentoring them, and literally providing a platform for them to hone their skills in front of an audience. Its affiliation with similar "Monday Night Magic" endeavours in London and New York, opens up the stage to visiting international magicians, a reciprocal act which provides further opportunities for South African magicians.
