At the age of 16 in Sydney, Australia Mike left high school and travelled for 18-months throughout Asia and India. After returning he realized all the fond memories created of his trip were based on food experiences. That ignited a passion for food and Mike was soon cooking in some of Sydney's most desirable restaurants for a clientele that included Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. After 10 years Mike moved away from the restaurant industry and switched careers to write, produce and direct lifestyle television for 10 years. His programs have been seen in over 120 countries and his work has been honoured with many awards including a Gemini award.

In 2013, in Mike's own words, "By combining both my passion for storytelling, and my never-ending lust for all things food related I have finally completed my career arc".

Mike is the former Food Editor-in-Chief of Canadian Living (Canada's #1 food magazine) and cooks on several TV outlets including Cityline (Canada's #1 morning show). Mike's honest and unfiltered perspective on both the food he cooks and the food topics he talks about has seen him rapidly become a respected and influential personality across both mainstream media and social media. He writes for the Globe and Mail, Toronto Sun, and 24 Hours (national). Mike also creates cooking content for his YouTube channel that recently crossed the 4 million-viewer mark. Mike also recently signed with a major North American publishing house and will be releasing his debut cookbook in early 2018.
