BWW Cabaret Announces Ashley Steves as New Editor-in-Chief and Casey Mink as Chief NYC Critic!

BroadwayWorld.com is thrilled to announce that effective immediately, Ashley Steves is the new Editor-in-Chief of BWW Cabaret, and Casey Mink will be the Senior Critic of Cabaret in NYC. Both will work together on all coverage of the cabaret scene in NYC and beyond.

On the new position, Ashley says, "I am thrilled to be joining this passionate team of artists and to be contributing to a site I have been reading avidly for years. BroadwayWorld had been critical in making theatre and music from all corners of the world accessible. I hope to make sure coverage of the cabaret scene, whether here in New York, across the country or around the globe, gets that same attention. As editor, my team and I will be looking for new ways to showcase both upcoming and familiar acts alike and give more focus to the performers themselves. It's my goal to make sure the cabaret section of BroadwayWorld is dynamic, diverse and reflective of a currently thriving scene."

Ashley Steves is a writer and editor based in New York specializing in arts and entertainment, social issues and politics. In addition to her position at BroadwayWorld as Cabaret Editor, she is currently a staff writer at Theatre Is Easy, reviewing off-Broadway and off-off Broadway shows, and a recurring writer for New York Observer and Village Voice. A musician of 15 years, her work is driven by a love and passion for the arts and for arts education. She's been hooked on theatre since seeing PBS's American Playhouse recording of Into the Woods in her sixth grade general music course. Casey Mink is a New York City-based writer, focusing on theater and the performing arts. Having graduated from Manhattan's Hunter College with a degree in journalism and English, she has spent the years since taking in all of the fabulous culture and art which the city has to offer. In addition to Broadway World, Casey is a contributor to Backstage and Stage Door Dish, and has previously written for HollywoodLife, Broadway.com and TV Guide Magazine. She is thrilled to now have the opportunity to write about and elevate the under-appreciated art form that is cabaret for BWW.
